I live in the I.E., CA and there is an Aldi a couple of miles up the road from me. Been there a couple of times.
First thing I noticed is that you have to insert a quarter in the cart slot which is chained in order to get a cart and return said cart/connected to the chains to get your quarter back. I think that is smart because it keeps carts from being left in the parking lot.
My overall assessment of the store is that it is good to shop there if you are on a budget and need to get basic items. Their prices is much cheaper than the major grocery chains, but they have limited items for me to go all out grocery shopping. I would rather go to Winco which is closer to me and have much more variety, not to mention is almost as cheap or not much more expensive than Aldi.
It's a nice store, but I would not abandon the bigger stores to go there.
