If you were unemployed and desperate for work then ofcourse but what if you already had a job?

Long story short, I have applied for this job that I really want. I had a initial interview through Zoom which went well.

Then I was invited to do this online questionnaire so they can see what my personality is like.

After this I was invited for a face to face interview which lasted over a hour and at the end I was told by the interviewer that he will be passing feedback to the Managing Director. He said the Managing Director would most likely want to meet me as well.

Here is where I stand. I have no issue having another remote meeting with the manager through Zoom but I would feel frustrated if this has to be face to face.

I think its unfair for me to book time off work again and travel there which by no means is close.

What are your thoughts about a third interview? I was previously only aware about a second interview in job applications lol

Expecting across the board to get a job in two interview cycles for a career type job isn’t realistic.

You have a point that you have concerns with missing time from work and travel cost and it’s fair to express that to them and ask for it to be Zoom.

Yeah OP. Just bring it to their attention that this is costing you money and moving forward you need some kind of affirmation that you aren't just wasting your time.

Depends on how much they're paying and the nature of the interview. Are y'all saying this big tech is three interviews stuff actually counting the lil recruiter chit chat as an interview?

My job is in the legal sector and not tech

Also the recruitment agency who forwarded me for the role previously said that the Managing Director would be present for the face to face interview.

So it may well be that the Managing Director could not make it last time but he still has to see me which is just bulllshyt. Not my fault he was not available that day.

I spoke to the recruiter and she agreed that it would be unfair for me to go out to see them in person again and said that I have done my bit for this job application.

There is literally nothing more left to talk about. We went through all the professional and personal questions.

I may not even be invited for a third interview but I am just playing all the scenarios in my head lol
I mean you said you wanted the job…….

If they say they need another session then say it has to be video because of the work, travel and cost conditions. If they balk at that then walk away from it.

I also say all of that assuming you know the salary and that it’s a increase for you.

Yeah if it’s out the norm for your profession and they want another interview because someone couldn’t make the first one, I would give some pushback. Had one interview back in the day where the manager was playing with me heavy, had me writing code and all that after the initial interviews, I was desperately looking for a job at this point so I obliged, after the code I sent him he STILL wanted me to come in for another interview about my code :wtf: I told the recruiter I went with another company even though I didn’t :camby:

Sounds like you don't really want a different job.
