Lebron.

But if I've learned anything from Cleveland and Miami, I try to add genuine support players and maybe add a veteran PG to assume the personality of locker room leader.

Durant is great but he's excelled with Presti surronding him with the right supporting cast.

:leostare::usure: nikka you talking like durant won something...

I'm talking like I'd rather rely on somebody that would go out trying with guns blazing than a nikka that would go out while

And your argument shall be rendered irrelevant when Durant is :lift: that trophy in a couple weeks, having already hit clutch shots this year that Bron has been scared to take

Durant.

Is Lebron a phenomenal talent? Yes. Do I think he's gonna eventually win a title? Yes. Has he been the MVP deservedly multiple times? Yes. But when you're building a championship team you're playing chess, not checkers. You've got to see the whole board. And all that off the court nonsense that permeates around LeBron is just not worth it, because Durant is right there at #2 in the league to me.

I would have no doubt that Durant would want to stay and build a successful franchise long-term. Evidence with LeBron at this point is that he won't. Seems to me you'd have an easier time putting personalities around Durant than LeBron, and I still expect Durant to get better on the court too.

Evidence with Bron at the same age was that he would stay to build a successful franchise as he had reuped with Cleveland at that point. Beyond that Durant has never been in the boat that Bron has been in for most of his career so you can't really compare their "loyalty". Bron has basically been asked to carry every team he's been on including the Heat this year. Even when CLE was winning 60 games Bron was the best scorer, ballhandler, passer, one on one defender, shot blocker, and even rebounder on the squad. He led the team in each of the 5 major categories or came really close to it one year.

Durant has Westbrook and Harden and Ibaka to take the pressure off of him in each of those categories. OKC is shaping up to be the new SA in terms of their front office so of course Durant is gonna stay there. Take a look at some of the errors the CLE FO made while Bron was there (let Boozer out of his deal, picked Ridnour over Josh Smith, Kevin Martin, and Al Jefferson, signed Larry Hughes to a max deal, passed on Amare trade for JJ Hickson). Small market teams can't make that many fukk ups and expect to win titles. I wonder how "loyal" Durant would be if he didn't have all that talent around him in a city that isn't known for attracting big names.

BTW what personalities has Bron ever had trouble getting along with? Since when does that prevent building a champion considering the personality issues people like Shaq, Kobe, and even Mike had during their careers?

Durant....When its all said and done I believe he will be more of a winner than Bron will ever be. I could careless about the stat stuffer, give me the guy that will be able to close out a game.

Durant. Better scorer, far more clutch, and most importantly isn't as damn ball dominant as Lebron is.

I love watching Lebron play.I think he's a phenomenal talent.

But I see Durant growing into a cold piece of work.

I'd rather build around a guy who has ice water in his veins during the big moments of a game.

Durant is only 22....still 4-5 years away from his prime.

And look at the way he's closing out games against some of the most battle tested teams of the last decade:wow:

There's a 75% chance that Durant is going to win a Ship this year....at 22...and he's nowhere near his peak:no:....it's fukking ridiculous.

Lebron is a specimen, but Durant is a man of the craft.

It's like Andre Johnson vs Jerry Rice.

Lebron effects games, but Durant effects victories.

I'm taking Durant as my first building block

Is there a guarantee that Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka will be the next blocks? You really think Durant would be this close to a ring with Sasha Pavlovic, Big Z, Larry Hughes, and Booby Gibson and Varejoa off the bench? You gotta remember that if you are building a team it's all about these guys in a vacuum not what their teams have done or are doing. Durant is a great scorer and certainly a great clutch shooter however I doubt he could do that in addition to handling the ball most of the time, setting other guys up, guarding the other teams best guy, and guarding 4 different positions.

I'm not making excuses for Lebron, he disappeared in the Finals last year and hasnt' been a guy you cant' count on late in games in MIA but the reality is he has had to do more, more often in order for his team to win during his career than Durant has. People are really fronting on how much Bron has had to do for his teams during his career. He hasn't been the most clutch player in terms of shooting in MIA but he had more than his fair share of clutch shots, passes, rebounds, and defensive plays while in CLE and has been clutch in every area except shooting in MIA. Put Lebron on a team where he can just focus on what he's best at and I'm sure he'd be more of a winner too.

I don't know what Durant would've done with that Cleveland squad.

But if the Thunder win it all this year.

It proves that you can build a championship team around Durant. Not only that, the way he came through in the clutch the last two games was on some Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant shyt.

And it's not like he's being set up by his teammates. This dude is basically creating his own offense when his team needs it the most.

He's playing at the same level as Dirk during the Mavs run last year, except he's nowhere near his prime like Dirk was.

He just has "it"....Haven't seen it with Bron yet. It's not like Lebron has been on horrible teams. His teams do enough to keep the game close, but he's just not stepping up and closing it out.

Durant is doing it against the most experienced/battle tested team of the last 13-14 yrs

That's Brons weakness. He's not a closer. If he was, he'd probably be the the GOAT....or at the very least #2 GOAT next to Mike

Durant would have left Cleveland too after being there for 7 years. Hell anyone would.

Lebron....Just gotta make sure you got legit closer/floor general to play beside him. If this current heat team had a healthy Chauncy Billups they'd be a problem...
