If you were to put Steph Curry on the 2001 Sixers would they still make the finals?

Would Steph be able to take that bum ass Sixers team to the finals?

Funny thread.
It sure is. But not for the reason you believe so.

It emphasizes the fact that we've got folks on this board who'd rather use war story-propaganda than show some cotdamn sense, all for the sake of protecting their childhoods. And it sure is fitting that the dumbass who made this thread (to shyt on Steph) ended up getting bushed himself.

No, it's funny because we kept talking about the durability of Iverson.
When Steph went down early in the 2019-20 season it bolstered our point about him not holding up to the pounding that Iverson took enroute to leading that squad of players to the Finals.

In true Coli sports section fashion, dudes are not gonna walk back their earlier comments no matter what.

You mean after Steph just led his team to five-consecutive Finals appearances, that somehow proves he wasn't durable enough for one postseason run, all because of a freak accident where a goofy-ass 6-10, 260lb player landed on his hand?

:usure:

The greatest shooter that has ever lived wouldn't need to take the pounding that Iverson took to prove he could lead that '01 team to the Finals; he wouldn't need to drive into the paint with reckless abandon because he could rely on his jumpshot more. Why does this seem to escape your logic, as if somehow, you think Steph would need to exist in the paint to the same degree that AI did, in order to win?

And furthermore, the fact you keep trying to stamp this point of durability all throughout this thread, tells me that you've inadvertently conceded that you believe there's no other factor in Iverson's favor. And it also tells me that since you're hanging onto this frayed thread of durability, that you're incapable of weighing this up with any objectivity.

And why the fukk would you even up this thread in the first place after a year of inactivity? What is possibly relevant at this time where you felt this would need to be upped?

You're telling on your own agenda.

between the different rules and having offensively challenged teammates, curry wouldnt have the space to rely on his jumpshot.

Larry Brown ran a lot of off ball stuff for Iverson and played him in more of a hybrid role than the ball dominant iso/P&R centric scorer people assume that he was. He was assisted on 42-44% of his baskets in the '01 RS-PS.

The mythos of that run is Iverson carrying Philly by himself surrounded by bums. Last I checked a top 5 defense isn't bums and performances by Aaron McKie in the semifinals (esp in G7) are to credit for Philly even making it to the ECF (where Allen was the best player on the floor, not Iverson). Replace Iverson with Steph and you got a better team on paper, point blank.
