You are right it is but I have a lot of free time on my hand as well....playing games all day and posting on the coli

Man folks don't even know. The money is in IT; And, if you are able to speak and write English well, in addition to knowing the technical mumbo jumbo then you're good to go. Alot of Indians and Chinese-esp non natives-are not good with the language so they struggle on the non-technical side of business.

Why are some of you getting so upset over an obvious troll thread?Just calm down
As far as the origin of the IT meme, I'd trace it back to SOHH. StuntOne was the first guy I remember claiming to pull in six figures off IT. People gave him theface because at that time most people viewed the IT guy like a high tech plumber. Making 50-75k is good money but nothing like the six figure salaries people are claiming now.
Eventually a couple more six figure IT guys popped up and along with a number of articles about POTENTIAL IT earnings it was generally accepted that IT = money.
The problem lies in the fact that there can only be so many at the top of any given field. Most IT guys are hourly like the rest of us peasants. To have so many IT guys on the forum and ALL of them seemingly making above 70k requires you to suspend your disbelief a tad. It's just another case of the Coli beats the odds.

In the grand scheme of things, 100k is not the "top"...at all but it's still 6 figures.
Is there a dude in IT on the Coli that makes less than 6 figures? Just asking.![]()

Not everyone in IT makes 6 figures, I know I certainly do not but the potential is there if people choose to take advantage of it. Between formal education, actual job experience and certifications, you can make 6 figures in your career and you don't even have to manage anyone.

not only do i get to look at pretty black girl asses when im in the office, I get to stay home two days a week and surf the coli and laugh at the dumb shyt people say![]()

Until I win the lottery or more realistically start working for myself, I can't see me being anything else other than a IT Field Engineer. Getting paid full time hours during the week when only doing damn near part time hours, as well as a shytload of overtime with bonuses during the evenings and weekends......you can keep those boring ass regular 9-5 office jobs with your manager breathing down your neck every 10 minutes and dealing with office politics.
Office worker at 2pm: So how many more jobs do you have for the day?
Me: I'm finished now. I'm heading home then to the gym.
