I literally have a reply for every post in this thread. Your municipality has free or low cost compost somewhere. Go get you a couple truck loads.

The key to a beautiful lawn is beautiful roots. Prolong that 1st cut of the season. Let your yard become overgrown and the lawn will grow the root system to support that height of grass.

Only water at dusk. A healthy lawn doesn’t require much water.

Stop Scalping! The #1 mistake I see is people trying to imitate golf turf by cutting low. A healthy blade of grass is ideally 6, 4 inches at bare minimum.

Compost is the best fertilizer. If it comes from your yard it actually strengthens the immune system of your yard and deters pests/invasive species

We have SOHH MANY leaves that we dispose of.

I've always thought I should get serious about processing them and making some topsoil

I'm taking a literal ton.

What State you in firstly? And is that St. Augustine grass?

I hate yard work and only do it out of necessity. My house and yard are only 7 months old, so you can still see where the grass was laid. It's getting there though. This florida sun is tough on it tho.
Certainly looks like it. That’s what I have. My old man swore by it when I was growing up.

All the lawns around me are already brown now tho. That used to not happen until mid to late July into august but the grass around here has been brown for a couple weeks now.

Pay a team of Mexicans

They come once a week, in and out in 30 min
Real talk. My moms area is taken care of by Mexicans and I think until the past few years it was $20 a week to get the lawn cut and the clippings removed. Trimming edges and all. They did the whole neighborhood and would be at it for 6 hours or so doing dozens of homes with small lawns. I'm talking 10x10s at most, sidewalk, and then 10x4 or so. It was lightwork and nobody complained about paying when 6 dudes come through and knock out all the work.

Everybody paid that 20.

The World, but from BK
I been at my house for 3 years now. First two springs and summers I was going crazy and spending waaaay too much time concerned with my lawn being fully grass and pulling out every weed and shyt. My wife had to sit me down and let me know I was spending too much time on it. My neighbor has a nice lawn but spends damn near his while weekend taking care of his lawn.
My lawn still has grass but is like 70% clovers at this point. I honestly like the clover look.
All I do now is mow, weed wack and water once a week during work hours.

I gave up on trying to fight nature. :yeshrug:
