I’d move to Boston if I could, it’s about as close as you can get to the European transit style of life as you can get in this country, they just need to really update the trains and all but being there really made me rethink how I live. That said those places are pretty expensive. I wish Orlando had its transit cause if it did it would be a goat status city.

Also a lot of those places in the surrounding states in general are safer just due to those demographics and the populations Having a nice spread. If you think about it these old crazy crackers really sardine canned our people and then red lined them and hope they would all die either through sickness and starvation or through violence, it’s insane cause they don’t even want our money they just want us to disappear,

Yeah, our transit system, as good as it is, needs to be overhauled. It’s suffered a lot mishaps this year, more than I can recall from memory. Though, the MBTA’s staffing has probably dwindled thanks to Covid, lowering the number - and possibly quality - of inspections.

What other cities in the New England area would you recommend/consider?

Somerville is great. Really vibrant arts scene, with excellent restaurants and bars. Medford has a strong black community, West Medford being home to one of the oldest black communities in New England. Brookline and Newton are very nice, though a little pricey. Cambridge is an amazing city. I’m slightly biased, being it’s where I grew up, but you need only do your own investigation, which should highlight how well regarded it is. It’s considered among the top cities in the country to live in.

If I had to choose, and money wasn’t an object, it would be either Somerville or Cambridge.

The culture in Massachusetts, which is decidedly more progressive than you’ll find just about anywhere else in this country, has nurtured the black community to think and act differently. We’re more educated, more conscious, more communal. There is a greater appreciation of our past, our historic triumphs and defeats, which has conditioned us to view one another with a stronger identification of our shared struggle. Black people up here have a lot of respect for each other.

Our safety nets are stronger, as well, which has made our families healthier. With this comes children who are going to school with a greater capacity to learn and retain the information they’re taught. Thanks to the constellation of world renowned academic institutions that dot New England, the education system in the states are among the best in the country.

My argument is that New England produces smarter and healthier black children.

Do the women believe in traditional family or are they “progressive” aka slutty and loud? Also isn’t Boston draconian and tried to force innoculate?

Boston born and raised. I agree somewhat especially about the safety net part. But once you are well established in your career most folks bounce. I personally think the area DMV is the ideal place for upwardly mobile black ppl. Places like DC and Alexandria, Virginia really had me impressed. :ehh:

There are all types of women up here. Many of the progressive, sexually liberated ones eventually settle down in their late 20s/early 30s. Boston did have mask mandates, but they never forced you to get vaccinated. Stores were given the option of denying entry those without masks.

The T is in shambles right now. So bad that they had to shut down one of the lines for a month due to maintenance

I’m a Bostonian. Born, raised, and I’m still here. I’m not trying to disparage what the OP is saying .. but .. don’t come here just to come here. Boston is home but Boston can be boring as fukk. How many people have you heard say they want to vacation in Boston? .. I’ll wait. Also the crime may not match the crimes of other cities and states BUT it’s no better. What am I saying to you ? Boston is a no. I’m sure you all know how to navigate in your states/cities. So the moral of my post is .. if you want to live in a costly state .. Mass is your place. You want weird happy doses of racism Mass is your place. I love it here because it’s home but home don’t make it better.

Boston is considered one of the safest big cities in the country. How is the crime not better? We both live in Boston, so we both can attest to crime - especially gun violence among our black men - being anywhere near as bad as it is in other major cities. If anything, the greatest amount of crime here is the heroin epidemic, whose perpetrators are primarily white.

My point in making this thread was to discuss the fact that Boston is a fairly safe city for black people to live in, when stacked against other major cities. That’s all.
