And it’s a big difference because you have to question whether the Eagles get the 1 seed(the biggest reason they got this far) if Foles has to play for a whole season.

You don't "have to" question that at all, sir.

You could just ride the hot hand...

I don't mean jealous of Foles at all. I'm just talking about being on the sideline watching your team win a game -- any game, let alone the fukking Superbowl -- without you. You gotta have some negative emotion there, especially when you were basically the MVP this season. You don't think Carson hasn't internally thought to himself at least once, "Well, damn, they won the whole thing without me, how valuable am I REALLY?"

I'm talking from just the human aspect anyway, I don't have a dog in the race as far as being a fan of the team or any team for that matter, or even the technical football aspect of it all. I can remember getting injured my last year in high school (I was probably the third best player on the team, not the best though) and watching them almost win in the state tournament without me. Can't lie and say I didn't at the very least have mixed emotions. Sad for my teammates/friends because we lost of course, but at least feeling a small bit of satisfaction from the idea that they lost because I couldn't play. Basic ego shyt.

This was different though. The experience of winning the sb is priceless. The eagles as a franchise have been a joke, Wentz was gonna win MVP before his injury got them to 1st place. It's not like he got benched or something injuries are out of your control and he's guaranteed to be the starter going forward and he's super young. Not only that but the guy that went in for him is a likeable dude. They had injuries all year and had a underdog mentality. Winning the Superbowl vindicated everybody. You gotta be one shytty person to feel some type of way about your team and city winning this Superbowl

it helps that wentz is both white & an MVP candidate.

theres no pressure on wentz. hes in the perfect situation seeing that foles was already here as a starter before, and the city knows what he is & what he isn't.

philly fans see the eagles as foles' safe haven. they were confident that the eagles were gonna win it all, and were saying that foles aint going nowhere,

now that they actually won, I don't know if people really still expect foles to stick around much longer, but you get the point.

Charlie Weis was just asked about this on the local Boston station...

He said he had the same thing in NY with Jeff Hostetler and Phil Simms. The next off-season they were going back and forth on who to start and they went with Hos.

He then said " if you ever want to see a Super Bowl team go 8-8 next year, name the back up your new starter"

Not when you have a franchise QB in place who was playing at an MVP level before getting hurt

Foles filled in admirably and will be paid elsewhere

Or - Carson Wentz could be traded or something.

This is the same Charlie Weis who was coaching in Foxboro when Tom Brady replaced Drew Bledsoe, right?
