Listen. Folks need to stop taking what these grifters trying to build a social media presence say as gospel. More often than not, these folks are juiced out of their minds and almost always come with some one-size-fits-all bullshyt advice thats easily consumable to folks who barely know the real about fitness, if even anything at all. First of all, I was formerly obese at 300+ lbs, lowest weight Ive been was about 150s, I currently weigh 215 solid now that Ive been lifting again. Prior I had been doing calisthenics and cardio pretty much exclusively for workouts for well over 15+ years. I started lifting again July of last year, I now do a mixture of all three, but Im telling you right now, if anyone were to do just one, lifting would be the most effective. Calisthenics require a shyt ton of reps to get the most out of em, and majority of people dont have the time to bang out 100s of the reps that would be needed in a successful calisthenic workout. Meanwhile you could bang out the weights in about an hr, three times a week alone and see better results doing far less work.
