Sumlin wasn't bullshyt before he got to A&M. It's mind-blowing how you cats think his offensive success is based on Manziel. Johnny gets bailed out more by his receivers and that offensive scheme more than anything else. You're hyping that dude beyond ridiculous. This is basically the same arguments that got thrown around when Tebow played. Manziel ain't a fly by night player, but he ain't the QB people are trying to convince everyone that he is. He's the white version of Timmy Chang (Google him)

The White Timmy Chang, is Colt Brennan.

don't go disrespecting Timmy Chang da GAWD breh.

wouldnt be surprised if orgeron stays

He will stay, just not as the Head Coach. I think Ed is a USC lifer at this point. Dude is kept on every coaching regime at USC. His recruiting talent & roots in SoCal is too deep to let him go. Coach O will have nikkas running through walls for him.

If ( which they wouldn't) SC gave Sumlin a call, he'd be one stupid muhfukka to not take the job.

1. it's LA
2. higher level boosters and program than aTm
3. still ties to the south for recruiting

the only downside to the SC job, is that it'd turn a considerable amount of pro style QB's from Southern California away cause of the offense he runs, he'd miss out on the Matt Leinarts,Carson Palmers and Matt Barkleys...and the SC Alums wouldn't like that all that much.

Nah, his offense works just fine with guys like that. He rarely has a dual threat QB like Manziel to work with. Most of them have been pocket passers.

If he could get a pocket passer + those USC receivers that they always have in his system :wow: game over

Stay at A&M. Now that they are in the SEC, they will be able to grab a lot of the top players in Texas as well as dip into Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida for a few recruits. In 2 years, A&M will be a giant in college football.

I'm well aware of who KEvin Sumlin is :upsetfavre: He was at OU when I was there. Manziel does have good targets, but he's deadly accurate from the pocket or on the run.

LOL @ comparing anything about Manziel to Tebow :russ: They're not even remotely the same. Do you realize Manziel CRUSHED Cam Newtons numbers from his amazing Heisman season? Do you realize he put up more yards passing/rushing against Bama than anyone else?

LOL @ comparing him to Timmy Chang.....a volume pocket passer in a weak conference with a weak arm.

C'mon dude. Manziel IS the QB everyone is saying he is and his numbers prove it. What YOU are trying to do is project him into the NFL and I'm not talking anything about that.

to be realistic, sumlin has a track record of producing huge names at QB(at lesser schools no less)

if he was at TAMU earlier, Tannehill would have been the "first" Manziel
Yeah I know.

But Tannehill was a WR for most of his college career, right?

I know I make fun of A&M but man, if they can ever really to the top look out. They are the second wealthiest public school after UT and third wealthiest overall. Just like UT, they have a huge oil fund. They don't have quite the billionaire network that UT has, but they have more money out there than SC. Plus his offense is pretty much what Texas high schools run.

I'm really curious about next year if he stays. The OL talent was recruited by Sherman and will be pretty much gone next year with Manziel and Evans. But they have a supreme talent at QB next year in Kenny Hill, and in the pipeline they have a guy in Kyler Murray(son of former A&M QB Kevin Murray) who is similar to Manziel but has had far more success so far in his career. If Sumlin is there when that kid gets there look out. Hate to say it as a UT alumn, but this might be their time to shine for a few years if we don't finish this season out strong to slow the tide a little. We need Mack to retire and Sumlin to leave for SC. PLEASE LEAVE!!!!

and Manziel is not "deadly accurate". Very similar to Colt McCoy as a passer. Really great numbers, and gets it in the area, but his receivers bail that dude out a lot.

Why would leave A&M for USC?

A&M bring in more athletic dollars than USC. Only school bringing in more is UTexas. A&M is currently getting the best Texas athletes and play in the SEC. It's not like USC can out pay A&M. Because A&M generate more athletic money than USC. There is no state income tax and the cost of living is way cheaper.
