Udemy aside, there are some companies that will interview you for an entry level software engineer role if you compete a Udacity nanodegree in Data Science or Front End Development. Not a lot of companies, but it's a way in. I've seen a few people make their way into a big name company this way.

If you put SQL on your resume make sure you're pretty comfortable in it. More than just SELECT * FROM my_table;. Most of the postings I see asking for SQL are for DBA roles or back end development. You can try looking into financial companies for jobs, but I don't know if that specific combination will help. Being in tech is more about problem solving ability honestly. I spend more of my day coming up with solutions than I do writing code.
