Instead of making a joke hashtag trending in response to Kanye's dumb comment 'Black Twitter' should have made a hashtag educating people like Kanye why slavery was indeed not a choice.
But then they won’t get retweets

Because every other group's oppression was taken seriously and again, that's something out of our control. I get so sick of black people thinking they need to act, dress, talk or behave in a certain way in order for white people to change their view on them. There's NOTHING we can do to change their opinion and actions.
I do get the point about not joking about slavery, but I didn't feel it was a jab to slavery, more than it was a jab at Kayne's idiotic remarks.
I get your point about us never being taken seriously by white people to begin with, but what about our own?
Forgot white people for a sec, would you take these people seriously? I sure as he'll wouldn't. You can't even joke about the Biafran War to me and that was nothing compared to slavery.
We either take it seriously or we don't. Not everything needs to be a damn joke or hashtag
It was a joke in response to a dumb ass comment, not the permanent state of thought or being for an individual.Slavery and the Holocaust are such poor comparisons and I wish people would stop using that as an example. Yes I know there are many similarities, but the main difference, to me, is that Jews were not FORCED into illiteracy, blacks were and that made a HUGE difference. Anne Frank had a diary at 13...how many black slaves were allowed to read and write at 13?!? Had we had education, I certainly believe things would be different.

This is what happens when young black folks don’t know the true history of slavery and the tactics used to humiliate, kill, demoralize our ancestors...
shyt is beyond corny..
We're not the only ones.Black People are the only people that make joke of their plight![]()
plus their making fun of Kanye not slavery.

Its their elitism and lack of confidence in their own people showing.Y'all more upset at the parody than Kanye's original statement.
It's like y'all fail to see the absurdity of Kanye's statement as expressed by these parodies .
