Also the intentional soft shoeing around the S with the constant use of the word "challenging" in reference to development and optimization on the platform is incredibly telling.
Clearly by DF's own admission, a Series S version of the game would lack parity with the X version with much lower resolutions in an attempt to get a stable 30fps. The memory leak rumor wasn't promoted by Game Science, it was promoted by their gaming journalist peers.

Every series S game has lower resolution that the x version. That’s the whole point.

And it’s very clear from all angles the game not being out on xbox has nothing to do with Series S at this point.
