Also the intentional soft shoeing around the S with the constant use of the word "challenging" in reference to development and optimization on the platform is incredibly telling.
Clearly by DF's own admission, a Series S version of the game would lack parity with the X version with much lower resolutions in an attempt to get a stable 30fps. The memory leak rumor wasn't promoted by Game Science, it was promoted by their gaming journalist peers.

Every series S game has lower resolution that the x version. That’s the whole point.
The memory leak was some cac tweet bullshyt people ran with.
And it’s very clear from all angles the game not being out on xbox has nothing to do with Series S at this point.
Nothing wrong with an exclusive deal. Lotta people acting real stupid over this one tho.

That tweet wasn't given much thought.
Second line is literally saying "Xbox failing..." and tries to draw a comparison to a singular failure of an extremely underhyped, underwhelming and violently rejected game that hardly anyone outside of specific gaming circles know about.
