why would a defense be “embarrassed” losing 14-10 to a 9-4, Bill Belichick led football team. because they ran the ball a bunch? is it “embarrassing” losing to a team who passes 40 times a game??

NE scored 14 points, had a 60+ yard run for a TD and averaged about 5 yards a carry. what defender is embarrassed by that?1. Yes it’s more embarrassing to get ran all over than passed all over because of the physical nature of running the ball. You’ve effectively been out physical’d if you let a team run all over you. That’s embarrassing.
2. This case is particularly embarrassing because the weather made it such that that the Pats, Bills, everyone in the stands and everyone watching at home knew that the Patriots wanted and needed to run the ball. Being unable to stop a team when you know they need to run the ball is absolutely embarrassing.
Now, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer have a valid counter in pointing out that it was really just that single long Harris run that really broke them. But, you can tell by their reaction/disposition that they didn’t really buy that. They were ashamed by how things played out last night. And rightfully so.

they didn't "quit", they didn't get outscored by multiple TDs, they didn't look lost defensively, they just ran into a gameplan that worked out for the Patriots. lol disappointed sure, embarrassed is a strong statement though.

giving up 5ypc when the other team isnt even throwing the ball is pretty embarrassingNE scored 14 points, had a 60+ yard run for a TD and averaged about 5 yards a carry. what defender is embarrassed by that?

eh I'll agree to disagree. sans the long run misstep they held to 3.5 YPC and allowed 6 points from 44 runs.
lol I just think embarrassing is reserved for nights like Jonathan Taylor running for 200 yards and 5 touchdowns or something or what TEN did to them, but hey who knows...
one team had a big run change the game, the other couldn't cash in on points. is the offense embarrassed at all any in this?

Ehh this is just a lazy take in an attempt to sweep the embarrassment to the side. Even putting that long rung aside, New England still managed to sustain multiple drives. When a team is one dimensional, you need to force them into a bunch of consecutive 3 & outs so they second guess their attack and at least attempt to pass. A few stops for losses/no gain on early downs should help with that. Bills never accomplished that, thus letting the Pats run only offense be effective.
Even gave up a 2pt conversion run. Foh tryna downplay this.
you right man. it's an embarrassing 14-10 loss. don't even see how the team can recover from this one, just too much damage done to the morale losing in this fashion. you simply don't bounce back from defensive efforts like this one.
- New England converted 2 third downs the entire game (one of them being the long 1Q run)
- BUF forced 5 three and outs out of 9 Patriot possessions...3 of which were 3-and-out possessions containing all run plays.
- 5 (of 9) NE possessions totaled for less than 10 yards
- The Patriots punted both their last 2 possessions in the 4th quarter
- 20% of NE carries went for 0 or negative yards.
