That's not what they're trying to do.

Many states have a requirement that you must name a father and assist the state in pursuing support for your child, in order to recieve any assistance, including just medical.

Here in Texas you're required to do so
And we have a complete wignut governor and an even crazier wignut lt governor.

This is to hype up their base by showing that they're punishing poor and blacks and browns and women who *gasp * are sexually active.

Nevermind that I sincerely doubt it's constitutional to deny a citizen a bc due to their parents situation - children of undocumented immigrants are issued bc when they're born here for instance.

Let's look at what they're saying.

The law applies to any unwed mother. Including those who are not receiving any state aid. So for instance a single mom who has a baby by sperms donor gets no bc. A single mom where the father died gets no bc. Depending on what shenanigans are written into this imaginary law children who's father's are deployed get no bc.

This fool actually says if someone else agrees to support the baby they have to sign.

So if I agreed to support my grandchild his bc should say mother-wickeds daughter

The child is not guilty because it's mother or father didn't have it together.

Do you realize that you can't do almost anything in this country without a birth certificate or some form of Id that would require a bc to get?

Children can't go to school without a bc.

So Is your position that children should be denied a basic education because the mother and father didn't make better choices?
