Teachers def deserve more pay but where they pulling it from? Illinois is strapped for cash. In Chicago they tax on plastic like LA and you pay out the ass to park along the street. Not to mention the red light cameras everywhere!!

shyt is sad.
From taxpayer funding.

Teacher pay isn't the cause for budget deficits.

yes, it is. their pensions are :dead: obviously that includes pigs, and other public pensioned employees. their pensions are DIRECTLY responsible for a significant portion of this problem

Teacher pay and pensions are not the same thing. They are certainly bundled together, but not the same thing. Most likely the only reason why pensions exist in the way they do is because teachers' pay is too shytty.

Sin my opinion some merit based system has to be put in place so bad teachers/schools can stop holding back good teachers.

When they stop overcrowding schools, start fully funding schools, and stop forcing teachers to teach to the test, then we can see about your suggestion. :stopitslime:

you're right. which is why this guy said:
Bush the pensions and raise their wages so that it’s a net gain...:manny:

all it would take is to say look, every teacher who signed on the dotted line before this date gets what's promised to them. every teacher who signs up for this job afterwards, this is how your pay is structured. it's not the same, because what was happening before is not economically feasible. but these fukkin cowards won't stand up to these thug union heads who force their members to donate to the democrats

...but uh, Koch brothers, and uh, but the pentagon budget, and uh, :mjlol:

I get that. My point is that the tax payer is already being taxed hard. They even tax on garbage cans now. The government isn't gonna reappropriate funding to support higher teacher pay.

Taxing garbage cans but also not taxing recycle bins, has that increased tax revenue and has it increased enough to help pay for teachers' salaries?

They got it but put it toward bullshyt like erectung underground tunnels downtown and "bidding" on new contracts.
