Types of people avoided: (keeps it to simple day-to-day interactions for work and errands, but otherwise he avoids people)
  • Friends
  • Family
  • Regular people
Why?

(no more)
  • Fake friends
  • Biases
  • Headaches
  • Nonsense
  • Betrayal
  • Depression
  • Demonic energy/energy vampires
  • No expectations for and/or from others
benefits
  • Focusing on goals
  • Getting closer to G-d
  • Can contemplate on what's important
  • Peace
  • Becoming more understanding of who you are as a person

How about the older coli breh(ette)s, y'all on the cusp of becoming hermits, too?

New Yawk where I’m from / Bahston where I’m at
Im drifting toward that over the past several years. Many of those points are valid, but really with age you see whom you share a mutual love and respect for - it hits a steady state but usually is only 5-7 people if you’re lucky. For me my entire social circle comes from the Masons outside 1 or 2 people.

So yeah I am becoming more of a hermit I guess.

I’m 48 but my core group of friends has been the same for a long time. My social circle has grown more with meeting my wife and being folded into her social circle.

I never really had friends or family that caused strife so no need to avoid them.

They cut themselves off from everyone else because deep down they know they’re the toxic one.

The Truth
I’m just a hermit and people take a lot of energy and have A LOT of issues that you always got to navigate.

If my friends were closer we would always be around each other but I’m not a phone nikka and not a long distance nikka.. which is another reason I’m single… the only reason really.

If fam was closer I would be stressed tf out but everyone else wouldn’t be :beli:

But I wouldn’t avoid them.

You're almost as old as me. :old:

I've never been the social type, so this has always been my default. You can't beat the peace that comes with it.

You sound depressed OP. Don't shut yourself out.

:gucci:That was the title of the video. I am not 48. :mjlol:

I am an introvert but I like being around people, too - book & running club, camping groups, etc... I was watching videos on solo camping and that video popped up in my feed.
