If you are getting paid that low doing engineering and comp sci then you either need to move or are getting ripped off.
So basically it matters what you degree is in as well.

Most of the jobs felons (especially multiple felonies) can get are intense labor and if they really want that money they'll be putting in a lot of overtime.
So yeah he might make more now but when shyt hits the fan and that job is gone with other labor jobs she'll be saving him from being homeless

I make good money in labor but it's with overtime and by slowly killing my body
Also you can't just take your skills somewhere else and expect the same or more pay
I've gotten raises because they depend on me and don't want to train someone else

I've long concluded that some dudes who don't go to college tend to be jealous of those who do go to college and look for any reason to discredit the person with the degree, or college itself.
My lady has 2 master's degree and I have a GED.. I make damn near double what she makes.. My overtime pay alone was more than her regular salary. I don't even feel like I work, I just show up, watch movies on my phone while getting paid.
if school is the best route for someone they should take it

got a high paying job for a major insurance company
the cubicle life was killing him
he started doing concrete work
paid off his student debts
then took his knowledge of business and concrete work
and started his own concrete business
and is balling without doing any physical labor
so for some people both school and the trades is the ticket

College degree doesn't always mean making more money. Many times it just means that you can make good money but not have to earn the money outside in the environment or in dangerous elements.

Yet still my wife's cousin makes more than me in oil. But the brotha is away from home 6 to 7 months out the year and working outside in all temperatures and working in dangerous conditions overseas.

There's always gonna be blue collar jobs that could potentially make more than your typical corporate gigs.
Longshoremen, air traffic controllers, train engineer, luxury car salesmen, etc.
But a lot of those jobs require long hours and are stressful.

Not really, what sense does it make for a kid struggling in an underfunded public high school to not drop out, get his GED and go do an apprenticeship or trade school instead?
Would you rather him be subjected to useless tests for four years be told he has to do four more years of school after that with thousands of student loan debt?
Matter fact, what's stopping him from going to an online college after he's settled with his construction job?
