:blessed:...yes brehs keep the rage coming....Im looking forward to runnin this young breh through coals for having the balls to ask for that with 1 year experience

Normally I go easy on Dev 1s...gonna have breh reconsider his career path when im done

Fam, you need to understand on a corporate level on how to deal with these upcoming Gen-Y'ers and Millenials. They aren't willing to wait like us Gen X'ers or Baby Boomers. I can understand that especially with the amount of loan debt, the shrinking job opportunities for good jobs, etc...they're trying to get a piece of the pie that has shrunk considerably since we entered the work force. Understandably, his expectations may be lofty but it's not wise to AFTER young duke like that...at least be commiserate with him in explaining why that salary may not fit with his experience and education. If he doesn't like it, he can kick rocks but after your explain salary for the position then that should be the end of it.

What the hell is wrong with some you nikkas on here man?

I'm a DBA and hold interviews all the time, first thing, our SVP's never tell us how much the guy is asking for, salary info is for them to negotiate not me...mad unprofessional on there part. Second, when I interview, I have certain questions to gauge each level (from trainee to senior) I start with trainee level questions, if the candidate can answer reasonably I move up to level 1 and do the same for level 2 etc...If the candidate doesn't answer questions well enough in level 2 for example, I stop the technical interview at that point. You never want to embarrass someone cause they had the balls to ask for more money than you would've asked for if at there level, see where his head is at and just gauge his level of experience, fukk all that tryna embarass him or make him seem unworthy.

Basically what I'm tryna say is you looking funny in the light right now breh and lowkey mad a breh had the balls to strive to be a 6 figga nikka straight out of college :umad:

Call me a c00n but black people in HR is no bueno. But there's a reason white people love sticking us there (women especially) and now I see why. It's fukked up if it's a white dude already but really fukked up if you're giggling like a school girl because you want to shoot down another black man's dream. Textbook crab in a barrel.

Reading your post, I do EXACTLY what you do in the interviews though, make sure the person coming in is a good fit for our team and can do the technical work, also I love being a DBA and not in management, would never want to be a 'Shot caller' for no company but my own, I have a CS degree for a reason and it's not to manage people...fukk outta here.

Having been on the other end of some tough technical questions where employers still gave me a shot despite me fumbling through some, I appreciate your approach

"Who dis ****** up on dat nag?" the thread.

If young breh is coding, coming to work as a petro engineer or something and got good grades/great school... You're just hating.

If breh just sucks, you're still hating.

Take a moment to explain to him why 120k is crazy instead of getting ready to feel big telling someone they can't have a job.
