He starts writing something that looked like a Ui screen with "buttons and text fields"

He then says "once the button is pressed, you can use Ajax to efficiently get the data back":shaq:

I replied "what are you going to do with the data once you have it?":jbhmm:

He says "you can use Javascript to display it on the UI":mjpls:

I say "but 1 million rows with cause performance issues if not break your UI"...he says "we can increase memory so that the UI wont break"

I said "explain:ld:"

He says "WE can increase our bandwith so the network is more efficient"

I said "no.that wont do it:heh:..do you have an alternative?"

He said "can we ask the business not use a table with 1 million rows":dahell:

I said "Thats not an option":youngsabo:

By this point, I noticed he had a lil sweat going:dame:

He then said "ajax should be able to handle it":manny:

..
Not only did he miss the real point of the question

He relied on the arbitrary notion that an ajax call would be solution to his problem...when all that is just a mechanism to call Java from the UI.....and even tried to reinforce that thought.:snoop:

I had 5 different IT jobs over the course of 8 years and don't remember any employer having a problem with it. Most companies these days are more concerned with what new skills you can bring to the table. That's why companies will pay more money to someone just walking in the door than a person that's been working there for years already. Especially if you came from a competitor they'll pay a premium to find out how the other side operates.

Before he started writing...he looked to me saying "you mean like a vector?:dwillhuh:"

I said "whatever a hashmap is to you:sas2:"

He said ok, ok and started doodling

He then wrote something like

for (i=o,i<=10,i++)
{
i;
}

He looked at me....I said "is I the hashmap?"

He said yeah with with a shocked looked:dame:

I said "ok":wow:

So he revealed himself:snoop:.....at this point I knew the tech part of the interview was out of the question

:mjlol:you are a douchebag breh. i know you were enjoying watching this kid squirm. you are like the worst type of interviewer a breh would want to have to deal with, but then again the kid was full of shyt :yeshrug:

Out of curiosity how do you iterate over a hashmap on Java 8 and why again are you asking a Java 8 question again? In my experience at jobs its tough getting ppl to upgrade because of legacy issues, customers who don't want to change ... etc, so its rare that I have worked in the most up to date Java version.

Just an FYI to the brehs who are really not knowledgeable on programmering, if this kid was seriously worth the 120K he was quoting all these questions that @Silver Surfer asked should have been a cake walk. A real roast would have been him asking the kid any of the questions you might find in Cracking The Coding Interview, LeetCode or HackerRank. Those are the types of shyt real nikkas should know front to back. Language specific questions should be a cake walk if you worked with the language for a while.

Always
I bet this is an IT job. The arrogance of thread title screams IT geek. Lol congratulations on making a lot of money doing something you can't talk to anyone but other IT geeks about. I almost went down that route because the money is great, but I'm glad I decided to pursue what I love which is way more fun.

Not all IT geeks are arrogant douchebags though. There's IT geeks here in this thread denouncing OPs attitude and how he's going in to the interview obviously biased. Every industry has its fair share of arrogant dikkheads who erect unnecessary barriers to the uninitiated :yeshrug:
