I hear that but maybe he ain't with that "winning" anymore that's all I'm saying
He must not be...

i don't understand it and I never may.

By any standard a dude with just IT certs who decides he wants to just "quit" doesn't realize what he has going for him.

Its not like hes an architect, banker, engineer, or some other formally trained professional.

He's got experience and worked his way up...but you don't just leave money like that on the table for a small hang up about identity.

Sounds like he's having a mid-life crisis.

Before he knows it all that "money he saved" is gonna go into some new pointless toy or endeavor so he can gain his "identity" or something.

Either way to the OP @Stuntone I live in Europe so I can't give you geographic advice however I have been in your exact position before.

I'm a banker now but after school I made the awful mistake of going into Sales and Trading. After working as a trader for a big investment bank I began to suffer from burn out and my mental health began to dismantle I wasn't happy at all. I did two years in trading and was meant to go to business school to do my MBA but decided to take time off. Work was making me sick. I don't know how much works making you unhappy however if it's getting to the point where by you're legit down every day and dreading work something's got to change.

Like you I wanted to experience entrepreneurship and was lucky because my dad has his own businesses and I could easily work for him. I worked for my dad managing and helping him direct his business and it was a good time out and time to just breath, being close to my family, travelling the world with my fiancé and just living life and having time to myself it was a breath of fresh air and I'll definitely end my career by running a business of my own.

I returned to work this year 2014 but to a better role I'm an actual banker now not a trader. I work in a division which works in market hours so I have a social life and I'm much better. I needed that time away to recoup and just rest because work was gonna drive me to my death bed.

Do whatever you need to do for your sanity, it's priceless.

WHAT LIFE???

Come on man.

Dude could be ACTUALLY ACTIVELY building his busines RIGHT NOW...but hes sitting here bytching about "missing family"

Is this a grown man or what we're talking about.

GET PAPER. USE IT TO MAKE MOVES. LIVE YOUR LIFE.

What voids does that man have? Lets be honest.

maybe he want to see his family more often, travel and spend time with his grandparents and parents
....not everybody cares about money, or is business minded
imo he should do whatever make him happy....u cant live twice

Decatur where its greater
see this is why black people are out here fukking losing.

Your wanna go out here and start c00ning when in fact your job sets you apart from damn near 90% of people in terms of income.

Plus ATCs I know retire early AND EAT off of those pensions.

But no...your life is TOO busy...whatever that means...and you can't be bothered because you want to do more entertainment cause its "fun"

nikkas gotta realize real life ain't "fun"

shyt must be done and you're doing far more for society in your current role than trying to be an amateur DJ.
:childplease: Your words are broke nikka thoughts.

Take note people. Here is a guy who will do anything and everything in pursuit of the almighty dollar. No matter if he hates a job or not, fukk your passion. You sound like those people who tell kids to go to school , get a good education, and afterwards you get a good job to become an asset to society. :camby:

And why can't real life be "fun" again? Since when should you go through life wishing and dreaming about doing something else with your life when you could have fun AND make money doing it. There's people out here who have quit high paying Wall Street jobs in order to pursue their own business/passion.

Straight up, if I had to choose between making 70K doing something I love doing which is my passions vs. 120k doing something I enjoy but don't LOVE.... the former wins.

The thing about the IT field and a lot of fields. You can make 100k in DC, decent money, but you can't relax. There's a ceiling. It's hard to make 150k-200k. So you're good as long as you have a good job. I'm not counting on or want to work until im 65. 100k in DC, you still have to work to your 65. Fukk that! I'm going to try and start my own business. If I fail I can find a IT job somewhere else, but I have to try.

For that f@g @Napoleon I'm not trying to brag, but sometimes you got to show clowns. I just made almost $65,000 in Oct from my home sell (haven't touched a 1 cent of it) don't have to. I've had a tenant for the last 4 years, I've been saving for 5 years. I've had other tax free income I will not mention. I have no credit debt or student loans. I owe 20k on my car @ 2% interest. But I'm straight financially for now. I just want to do something bigger.

Right now, I'm taking a few months off to relax, travel, spend time with my family, research investments and business ideals, workout. Do me.LIVE LIFE!!! I'm not going to work 40 years straight and just be getting by. If I fail, I can always get a job.

Fukk any clown hating on that. :pacspit:

Thats what happens when you sell a house. Let me know when you decide to buy again.

surely not in the millions.
I have no credit debt or student loans.

I'm just going on a limb here:

I don't think you're prepared to start your own firm and you're going to regret not starting the business RIGHT NOW while you have a job.
