I'm tired bruhs. I can't take this area and lifestyle anymore. I miss my family, I miss the south so much. I've sacrifice so much chasing this money. I've been here almost 10 years, never loved it here. I've always wanted to leave, I've been waiting for a good opportunity to leave. I'm starting to believe there isn't going to be a perfect, I'm just about to go back to Louisiana for a few month. Workout, get my mind and spirit right. I've been somewhat depressed lately. This weather, working nightshift and every other Fri, Sat and Sun, missing out on everything. I'm just done. No more to give. Money don't mean sh:t anymore, I saved a lot. The only thing holding me up is my lease which ends July 18th. I was going to try and make, but I can't. I'm mentally exhausted.

Any suggestion on moving companies or how to break a lease w/o having to pay 1000s of dollars?

1. 10 years in a high paying job ain't nothing.

2. I honestly believe you should think about getting another degree (MBA?) or switch careers...HORIZONTALLY...don't go into something making less than you make now

3. grind it out. What is there for you in Louisana

I know people love the "do what you love" trope...but its largely bullshyt and repeated by people who make their living in entertainment mostly.

Most times we do what we must so that we can later do what we want.

Family is all that there is. I've made a lot of money, have a career, but my life feels empty.

I'm just going to relax in Louisiana for a few months. Get my mind right and look into starting my own business. I don't have the mental to interview or work for anyone right now. My mentally exhausted. I just need to take a few months off and clear my mind. I've saved up enough to take a few years off if I chose to. I just want to workout and spend time with my love one. Money ain't sh:t, especially if it's not big money. I'll probably look into moving to Texas, Cali or ATL in the fall.

Family as in kids? or like siblings/mom and dad? If you are single, its probably time to settle down and start a family up here. Going down there wont accomplish anything if you are lonely. Why are you leasing anyway after 10 years of a high paying job? Buy a home in the burbs and get the family started breh.

If its really bad, like borderline clinical depression, I say just go. Stick it out til July, hop on a plane and dont look back. Start a business down there and enjoy the rest of your life

You can tell them you got fired from your job and they might let you out of your lease.

I just sold my house a few month ago. I've tried it all. This just aint the place for me. I'm at work right now, feel like about to throw up.

I don't see how any Black man think that a good job is the end goal. Most people with good job are good as long as someone "give" them a job. I want my own business, I can't rely on CACs until I'm 65. Can't.

I feel you man. I have been looking at condos in the Cancun Hotel Zone and Cabarete, DR to go to for summers. Its crazy everybody there wants to be in the U.S. and all we do is dream about being in the Caribbean all day. I love the DMV culture and dont see myself ever leaving but money really isnt everything, especially when your job is super stressful.
