I’m sure other countries have mental illnesses but we have by far more, plus they self medicate with street drugs that we have a lot of.

does Germany have state hospitals? Cuz that’s what I feel will help here.
State hospitals will help for sure. Our country would never allow such a thing though. We're so hell bent on profit and capitalism that we see subsidized healthcare as a problem :mjlol:. In my honest opinion health care should be a human right:yeshrug:. We treat it like it's a luxury in America so our leaders are more reluctant to subsidize it :russ:.

Will the quality of care be the same?
I think so ONLY if the doctors and nurses get paid the same a privatized hospital.

Well part of it is suppose to be man helping his fellow man. So I'd expect homeless folks to get more help from those around them than the government....

Matthew 25:34-40
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

I've been "arrested" , just put in handcuffs no formal charges, no record because I was giving out what I call 'homeless bags' it would be a sandwich, chips, Gatorade, and fruit snacks in a gallon ziploc . I would go downtown and just walk around giving them out. You're not allowed to feed the homeless in public in Orlando but I got off with a warning because I wasnt doing anything 'wrong'

Nobody wants to be homeless. Anybody saying that is lying.

I was homeless in 2015. That shyt sucked. WHo wants that life? Not knowing where you're sleeping at night? Wasting hours of the day bouncing around from burger king to mcdonalds to the park to the coffee shop to whatever bar I could hang out in from 9 to 4 in the morning cause I had nowhere to stay with my backpack on my back? sleeping on the roofs of apartment buildings that you could get into? trying to get stuff for free or next to nothing cause you had no money? Having to pawn your laptop so you could have money to have a place to stay? Making enough money to get that back to find work on to get money to financec an apartment?

Some of y'all think everybody that's homeless is some druggie or mental inefficient...most of the homeless people I met in NYC were people that got kicked out from a living situation that ended up homeless after they lost a job...

This let's me know that Americans really don't know what adversity is....do you think ANYBODY is passing up having a roof over their head? Especially in the rain or snow?

That is crazy. But I guess you can still give food to whatever rescue mission is responsible for feeding them. I understand they might be worried about what people might give the homeless to eat. Have some sickos out there waiting to harm people.

I'm not amazed at all but I'm rather disgusted. We'll have inhabitance on Mars before we fix homelessness on earth.
Not just inhabitance we’re going to have Inheritance on mars before this is fixed , them fukkers are going to pillage mars and pass the wealth to there Descendants to:snoop:

Thinking of his topic, I believe the govt can fix the homeless problem, but not sure if it can be done permanently.

People who are down on their luck can receive enough aid to get back on their feet. People who lack the mental capacity, disabled or lack basic social/survival skills to sustain themselves may be a more difficult challenge.

But, there are abandoned buildings all over the place. Those buildings could be converted to housing and perhaps even places of employment.

I have this feeling that the homeless population will skyrocket once the evictions get processed by the courts.
