The fact that I'm reading these responses on the Coli instead of a reputable business magazine tells me all I need to know about the Coli Entrepreneurs Club. :francis: Just like with the STEM shyt, they don't realize that if everyone actually followed that path and succeeded it would drive down wages since those skills would no longer be in demand with such a large talent pool. If everyone "starts a business :krs:" who the hell is going to work at your business? Is everything going to be a sole proprietorship? And what about corporations where you would need to get your goods/services for your business? All their employees quit to start businesses remember? :skip: Some people are equipped to perform certain roles in this society. Fit into and stay in your lane and shut up.

Making anything of value requires a team of trained individuals that each fulfill a role. We would be living in the stone age if everyone had the attitude thecoli does about business :mjlol:

I missed a few pages of this thread, but from what i've seen in here and on The Coli in general, who the fukk said EVERYONE needs to start a business? :rudy:Literally no one on here said that every black man needs to have a business. The reason some black men on here encourage entrepreneurship is MAINLY because of the fact that black men have the lowest amount of businesses of all men in the U.S. Let's stop playing dumb like we're currently leading or even competing business wise with other groups. There is a need for more black businesses. If that weren't the case, it wouldn't even get brought up this much. Of course not everyone is going to be a boss and somebody has to be the workers, but there needs to be a BALANCE, and right now there is no balance, what we have is a disproportionate amount of workers and lack of bosses, and to top it off, our workers aren't even working for other blacks, they're working for cacs. Because there is a shortage of black businesses to employ us (hence the encouragement of entrepreneurship on here by some black men). Some of yall nikkas are slow as fukk.

I failed twice in business before having any sort of success even then my business is relative modest in comparison to the work I put in.

I bet those failures taught you valuable life and business leasons though right? Trial and error.

Long post ahead but here's the truth, many of us gotta stop making excuses breh. Yes, it's hard. Yes, there are road blocks. But at what point will we just try anyway? I hate seeing the numerous threads on here and other boards like this: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/its-literally-impossible-to-start-your-own-business-gtfo.308713/

There was a breh on here who made a thread about black men & pizza ideas. The amount of ppl who came in there trying to discourage him was pathetic. Even if you are pessimistic about it, or unsure, why try to convince others that it "can't" be done? As a group, we aren't in a collective position to be so "picky" about entrepreneurship. At this point it's more ownership or continue to be at the bottom rung.

Of course cacs make it hard for us to start businesses, but what ALSO doesn't help is that some of us aren't even willing to live below our means and sacrifice long enough to save up money. It takes a selfless and dedicated person to cut back on temporary gratification and materialistic desires for a goal. l know firsthand. A lot of us are not willing to curb our spending habits, and save our disposable income, the reason many of us don't have the money saved to put towards a business is because a) we blow our disposable income on toys and entertainment like children and b) those with the money rather keep it to themselves instead of finding like minded black men to build with. Even rich famous black men with millions tend to not invest back into the community, a lot blow it on hoes, cars, coke, jewelry, clothes, shoes, etc

I've known some brothers in diff fields, one was a mechanic, who complained about working for cacs, i once asked, well how much do u have saved so far, they said they had no extra money so i asked, after your bills are paid, what do you spend your disposable income on? Guess what answers i got after asking twice? Video games, clubbing/strip club, expensive clothes, $300 sneakers, liquor, etc. Entertainment and toys.

Seems like a lot of us want to portray that we have wealth that we don't actually have. Bragging about being the flyest and the most "swag" but really lack wealth and ownership. Want to be in the nicest whip, rock the most expensive brands, and even have kids who can't walk yet in expensive clothes and Jordans. But have an alarmingly low amount of black businesses and ownership.

So many of us spend money to floss and portray a false sense of wealth, and have nothing to show for it except these material possessions. Instead of laying low, making sacrifices, and stacking for a greater goal as a group, we want instant gratification, flashiness and individualism.

:wow:
