That really sucks. I had an adviser who suggested I attend the equivalent of community college in Canada. Half a decade or so later I've just completed a Masters Degree.
If you're young and not entirely sure what you're doing - I can see how that can occur. My Nigerian parents would never let me shame the family by attending college.
