Been done for a while. Hard to take dudes seriously when you see hoe easy it really is to make music. I can make a decent trap beat on garage band in 5 minutes if I got the right drum kit The hardest part is figuring out the business side. But business is business and business is BORING. This generation says money this money that but they mean they about business. That’s why it’s borIng it’s all just a busIness

So much dope Hip Hop out there, from Talib Kweli's new album, Rapsody, Blu & Exile, Brother Ali, K-Rino, Big Krit, Jay Z, Joey Bada$$, Sean Price, Kool G Rap, Chris Rivers, Wu Tang Clan, Rick Ross, Raekwon, Prodigy, Stormzy, Leaf Dog, Meek Mill, O.C, Wise Intelligent, KRS-One, Logic, Fat Joe & Remy Ma, Evidence and so many more , and those are just some artists that released albums this year. Don't understand how somebody could not like at least something out of that and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Thing is, that shyt don't even do it for me no more. I might hear some shyt that catch my ear for a minute but then after a couple of minutes I'm like :yeshrug:

I'd rather listen just keep R&B music from the 70's, 80's and 90's on repeat. Then again, I've always been an R&B head 1st.
Bruh, I'm listening to Marvin right now. :wow:

underrated album from Marv, i dont understand why he caught flack for it

I agree. I think it's cause it came off the heels of I Want You and Got To Give It Up a couple of years before.
I heard he caught flack for Here, My Dear too. Some thought the album was vain.
But In Our Lifetime is still a really good album IMO. Marvin wrote, produced and arranged all of In Our Lifetime.

In terms of current Rap/Hip Hop, I only listen to certain artists. There are a few artists that I enjoy but it’s no where close to before. So I understand how OP feels exactly.

We've had this discussion various times before and I think we all understand both sides of the discussion. Me personnally I went through a 4-5 year stretch where I really reduced how much HH I was listening to, but I think that in some way if you really love the music you'll keep coming back...only to be even more disappointed if you only stick to the mainstream or whatnot. We got dig a little deeper now but for me for example being in Europe that's one of the points of the Coli anyway, seeing what people are listening to...that's how I got into Griselda and Dump Gawd, those crews are restoring the feeling :ehh:
