Don't give up on weight lifting. Before my back said quit, I was doing 30mins of cardio/30mins of lifting to great effect. Just portion your diet out better(eating the same shyt you are now) and you'll break through your plateau in no time.

What's a good two day split high rep workout?
I wouldnt do a high rep workout on a caloric deficit, you will burn out

Stick with whatever youre doing, but just cut the # of SETS in half. Keep the same intensity but cut down the volume. That will let you maintain without stressing your body too much. Do cardio if you want, but not to where you are eating muscle.

In a 24 hour period, 1 hour of cardio will burn 500 calories and a little bit of after burn. In the same 24 hour period, 1 hour of weight lifting will burn 500 calories spread over time, but more of those calories will be FAT CALORIES.

Taken from Home › The New Rules of Lifting book.

Essentially, if you are trying to lose weights, continuing to lift weights will only enhance your progress, it won't stall it. It is incredible difficult to create new muscle mass when you are cutting calories.

That's some low intensity cardio. If you're running sprints throughout that hour, you get the high calorie depletion, PLUS the metabolism benefit. If you're just running at a good pace continually, you'd burn that 500 in only 30 min...either way you're correct about the weights though. I don't know why people always think weights are bad but doing low intensity cardio only is good...that just leads to being skinny fat.

@AVthaPHARAOH dropping some heat

^That was my prison routine. And I spent 2 years on a facility with no free weights or machines, then my last 2 years on one with free weights and machines. And EVERYTHING was located outdoors on the yard. Rain, sleet, hail, snow. I got locked up weighing 185lbs... I left the county jail after 2 years and came to my last State facility weighing 162lbs.

After hitting the weights (I took about a 5 month break during a REAL frigid & windy winter) for about a solid 18 months, I left that facility at 185 but was pure muscle. And keep in mind, that was with shytty commissary and state food.

Now I'm 205. That super & tri-setting routine will have you see incredible gains in strength, endurance, stamina, and aesthetics faster than anything else. I LIVE by it.

I'm trying that @ski Hat boxing routine plus 45 minutes on the bikes and trying to work up to 100 burpees. I'm really just bored with weights. I don't cares about being strong, I do it for the physique and :noah: feeling after workouts

2 week in and no weights with the @ski Hat boxing workout and I'm down to 207. Probably lost some muscle mass but :manny: I'll get back on the weights when I get to 185/190.

My workout is:

Pullups / Chinups 3 sets to failure
4 sets of boxing workout (hopefully moving to 5 soon)
Bike or Run for 45 minutes.
