When I go on those 5-6 day binges my girl can smell it on me smh. And I’m talking about a pint at the minimum a day. I had to start keeping mouth wash in my car so that I could swig it before going in the house.

Don’t even get me started on the dumbass decisions I make when drunk either.

I'm withu breh. This is the last frontier for me. I have cleaned up all other areas...other than a consistent sleep pattern. I am pretty fukking close to being an alcoholic. I refuse to chase the diz anymore...my tolerance is so high....I recently took a month off and killed an entire bottle of rye in 2 days with not as much as a slight buzz. 80 proof shyt. Its complicated as I am an experienced and cultured aficionado of the drink...but it's not a healthy habit to be proud of. I might just become a wine/beer only type gent from here on.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in recovery. I'm willing to bet my left nut 9 out of every 10 people who drink are alcoholics who don't wanna admit it. I've never had a sip of alcohol or smoked a day in my life mainly cuz I grew up in a strict household and was never around that stuff. But anyways it's good you wanna quit alot of peoples lives revolve around liquor.

I’m trying to too. I’ve been a smoker for a long time but I recently picked up drinking heavy. I hate it and it’s hard to stop.

I’m moving across the country in a week; should be about 3 days driving. I’m taking this as a journey and my first threedays towards being sober. I used to live in the gym so I’m going to make that replace drinking and smoking for me

With the amount of Alcohol I used to drink back in the day, I'm honestly surprised I ain't in a lurch somewhere waiting for the pub or the off license to open while chugging Listerine.

I can't stop myself. Sometimes I'll tell myself I'll only drink on the weekend, then when I get home I can't help but to pop that bottle open. shyt is just so relaxing after a day at the law firm. :brutuswow:

I usually have one or two drinks a day. I don't think it has really affected my life negatively like that. My health check up just a week ago came back A1. If I knew it was really affecting my health I would definitely stop. More power to those that have the desire to stop.

Yep, i say that too. I'll drink on Sat/Sun but when i get home Monday i say "ill just finish off the bottle and be done" , then it's like well the bottle gone and i been drinking anyway so i might as well grab another one since i started then i repeat the same thing Tues, then next thing you know it's Friday again

I’m 10 days sober right now...it’s gonna be hard as hell trying to stay sober with Christmas coming up but ima try it.

It’s hard as hell trying to stay sober though. My issue with drinking is once I catch a buzz I wanna keep it going and end up drunk. Then I wake up in the morning and take a shot just to get back right and that one shot turns into 3 or 4 then IM CALLING OFF. This will go one for about 5 days then I’m good until the next time.

Anabuse is a life saver.

I had a fukking problem with drugs (mainly benzos) and alcohol and had to get professionally detoxed at the hospital.

OP how did you quit cold turkey? You do realize with the amount you weredrinking, you could easily get a seizure and die if you stop cold turkey.
