I haven't had a drink in four years. If you need any support, always feel free to PM me.

Knowing there's a problem, and taking steps to rectify it, that's half of the solution right there. You're on the right track, keep strong.
You went to rehab?:lupe:

I got sober in 2006, I went to a month long residential treatment, and than spent about 15 months in a halfway house/recovery house, which was really where a lot of my sobriety was developed.

I started smoking and drinking young, like 15/16, started using and selling cocaine at 16, and was using everyday by the time I was a senior in HS, and drinking everyday, in addition to blunts, valium xanax, that kind of thing. By the time I was 21, I was drinking a fifth a day, from 151 to E&J, to Remy, Jack Daniels, bottom shelf whiskey, I was essentially killing myself. I decided to make a choice to get sober, my life had become hardly worth living, and one of the things drinking does is take everything you really loved and cared about, and replace it with alcohol.

fukk that. I have never been a big drinker and don't plan to be. But wifey's pregnancy made me cut back from the little I was doing. Once this baby is out we are breaking out the stouts :drink:

I don't drink to get drunk though; I like certain alcoholic beverages. Its nice to have a glass of wine with dinner or a nice craft beer with some biercheese and pretzels. Nice to crack a brew or three with the homies

But I can't knock anyone looking to self purify :manny: Just not my time right now

I have absolutely no urge to drink on the regular. I probably drink ten times a year or less. Stopped smoking weed in July after ten years of blowing on the daily.

Want to know what it feels like to have a clean mind and body. That's just me personally. Every man for himself. :hubie:

If you think you have the willpower, just go to a detox hospital for a week. My insurance covered all $4K of it. It's shytty as hell, but they'll detox you safely. After that, have your doc prescribe you Anabuse (it's a drug that will make you violently ill if you drink even a small amount of alcohol). shyt's been working well for me. I know I can't drink at all without getting violently ill, so I don't even think about drinking at all anymore. :blessed:

I'm slowing it down again. I normally binge drink beer or whiskey and go to day shortly before I pass out. I'd alternate whiskey for 2-3 weeks then beer for 2-3 weeks. I gained like 60lbs in the last year from this. Right now I'm just drinking a 16 oz can a day. I successfully stopped for about 3 weeks earlier this year and I felt great. Waking up full of energy, saving money, etc.
