Listen: I'm not a fan of Bron, but I respect his game. Why would I, as a fan, WANT a player on my team that I'm not a fan of? What sense does that make?
On another level, I wasn't happy that we signed Amar'e, for the exact same reason, that I've never been a fan of his and found him overrated and one-dimensional. So I was pissed when we signed him and I'm still not convinced it was a good move, but I respect him as hell for working hard to come back after injuries and accepting his new role. Do I root for him as a Knick? Of course I do, as soon as you put that jersey I'm rocking with you. But I'm still not a fan of his. Same with Melo, I BECAME a fan of his when he came to the Knicks, but I did not support trading half our starting 5 to get him (we could've waited for the offseason).
I was actually hoping Bron would stay in Cleveland because I felt that he could've done something special with that team, as in CREATING a legacy there, and I just feel it makes it that more special for great players to stay in one franchise for their career.
Once you put on a Heat jersey I'm down to root for you but does make me a fan of yours personally. My favorite Heat SF to this day is still Jamal Mashburn, tho I understand that Lebron is far better than Mash ever was, Mash was my dude.
Personally I hate the Knicks and the only reason I tuned in on the Decision was that I FEARED he would go to New York which would have been a nightmare for me. Never in my dreams did I think he would come to Miami. I was happy with Wade and Bosh.
So me and my friends (Knicks fans) were watching the show and im sitting there thinking watch this fukka got to NY.
My friends (Knicks fans) were all like 100% sure he was going to NY and I was pissed thinking it was gonna happen.
Then he said Miami.
I was happy! Not because we got him. Oh no. That ain't shyt to me.
I was happy to see the agony in the face of Knicks fans of having the prize they coveted the most (Lebron) being stolen from them by the one of the people they hated the most (Riley) was like HEAVEN to me. I swear i busted a nut off that. no homo

In this case I understand your point of view, can't speak on those Knicks fans but I did find the whole campaign to get Lebron in NY kind of pathetic. It's like we were begging for him to there, if he wants to come cool, if not move on and let's do our own thing.
As I said, I didn't want Jordan to come to the Knicks, I wanted the Knicks to beat Jordan. Same with Bron now. Even more so now that he's with the Heat, which I hate (and respected as hell during those NY-Mia playoff series. Mourning is one of my all-time favorite players).

@the thought that manhattan hicks fans actually thought they were gonna land LeBron.The Nets had a far better shot at landing LeBron than that shytty nbdl team in manhattan and even so, that change was similar to Hov's percentage of the Nets
Honestly breh that was my only worry at the time: Dont let that fukka go to NY. Often, I feel like my love for my team is minimal compared to my hatred for the Knicks and Jets. Thats a fact. Spin it however you want but that is just the way i feel.
Let me put this in perspective: I would trade our current 18 game win streak for a 10 game losing streak If i knew that the Knicks would also go on a 20 game losing streak of their own
