I’m having a hard time understanding how someone can lose a loved one and party the same day

I’ve seen it various times now so I know it’s something I need to learn to understand. This girl I knew was celebrating her b day riding these ATVs and one of her cousins got in a serious accident and she had posted on her page about the injuries she suffered and how she’s fighting for her life, THAT SAME DAY she posting herself in the club smiling, laughing and living her best life, I’m like :mindblown: how you turning up after something like that so soon. Me and my ex got into it about it once: she was planning on goin to the club one night and she was told her aunt died and she was distraught for a sec, and posted about it on her IG but then she went to the club and partied like it never happened.
mind ya business nikka..

cousin didn't have the accident..she would be right by her side..

OP..

There are a lot of families that are fragmented. Families today are different from families of yesteryear.

Some people are literally disconnected from their relatives emotionally.

Thinking of my family, I could see quite a few of them who would do the same thing to me, if I was to get seriously injured or came to my demise.

I got relatives that simply don't fukk with me @ all!

It shouldn't be that way, but it is what it is!

*shrugs*

Some siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles and parents in my family don't fukk with each other.

They beefing like they are in rival gangs. I got relatives that fell out with their parents and shyt..

Smh..

Every now and then, I think about the following:

What if I bought a lotto ticket today and when the next drawing happens, I hit the jackpot!!

How many of my relatives, who don't fukk with me, going to blow up my phone talking about

"Hey famo!!

They gonna want me to break them off with some change!

That is to be expected, right?

Part of me think that I will let them hold a lil something, but the other part of me is like I ain't giving them shyt because I believe they they wouldn't give me shyt if they hit the jackpot.

Moral of the story:

People need to understand the importance of family. They may literally be the only people who actually give a damn about you!!!

People just have to go though their journey and learn life lessons though trial & error.

It is not normal.

I don't expect people to lose sleep over every relative who passes away, but someone posting about it on social media and then demonstrating that you don't actually care tells me the type of clout chaser you are.

Some people truly don’t care, maybe they weren’t as close to said person as you may have thought.
And then there’s the people that it hasn’t sunk in for yet. They may look fine on the surface but that shyt will tear them up inside once reality sets in.
We all grieve differently, I know it’s cliche but it’s damn true.

I was just thinking..

Not to derail your thread and I think the following question which warrants its own thread, but...

Do you think that we as a society should have the right to legally divorce our relatives?

If we had that right, what percentage of people do you think people would do it?

I believe it would create a lot of business for lawyers and the courts. I also think it would create a lot more drama and chaos as well..

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Invited my friends and family to swing by the crib when my mom passed (this is after nursing her for 5 months as cancer ate her to the bone).

Sometimes, you just want to drink the pain away and be with those you love most... when the one you most loved is gone.

Funny is that when I divorced from my ex girfriend... i couldn't even drink because the pain would only surface during times of inebriation.

So there's levels to this.

I’m trying to understand I’m not necessarily judging them, just kinda weird that people happy and turnt up and they just got some sad news
Different people handle shyt differently
Also, sometimes it takes time to hit you.

I'm working confused about why people would announce that to the world like what is the point of posting that?

Real shyt, Im surprised at adults who party or club everyday or every week. :yeshrug: like folks dont have jobs, responsibilities, saving money and shyt? I swear folks trying to do shyt that nobody out here thats really running shyt is doing thinking theyre cool when theyre looking crazy and silly. Thats not a good look.

She did that shyt because she probably in the club all the time anyway.

i wouldnt do it but i get it, people trying to take their mind off of it

I've been to plenty of those functions and stayed til the end.

It's smiles and drinks and smokes in the beginning, but with each, drink and each smoke that pot full of emotions starts to bubble over. Fights, tears...eventually someone too drunk and too high, throwin up, cryin, passing out.

It's easier to deal and process all of that and grieve that way than to sit on a couch, bed, floor and let it all out for most people.

That another reason why i dont with the club, you got people who need to handle their business correctly instead of drinking, drugging it up and ending up fighting and shooting the club up. You know how folks cant control themselves and shyt.

shyt. Anger got me through my mom's funeral.

I felt like I was handling everything well, til the day of the funeral. The day it happened I grieved, I grieved for a day or 2 after as well.

Finally the day of the funeral I was pissed. Being angry was still a part of the grieving process. I needed to mask how I was really feeling.

I didn't take it out on anyone just sat there like :stopitslime: and consoled my pops, brothers and sisters.

You couldn't tell me I was wrong, the church wasn't the right church (it was), the damn service started too early (it was fine), casket wasn't the right color (it was fine), people fake crying, people that ain't seen my mom's in years showing up and shyt (fukk those people though), service started late (do they ever start on time?), Hearst driver during too fast like he was delivering a couch or some shyt (he was driving fine), my nephew wouldn't shut the hell up talking and asking about grandma (he was like 3-4 years old).....
