I want to be a Bernie supporter. I fukk with his energy.

So I did a little research. 5% tax on Billionaires yearly, on top of the regular tax. All the billionaires, and a couple major tech companies gonna move from New York to London. Thats a very easy move. Its a way for them to save 50-500 million a year. Probably more

So now the stock market shifts to London, and some companies soon follow. Now the US Govt aint getting anything off those companies and individuals who relocated. Universal healthcare and College tuition legislation is already in place. And we losing the billionaires and companies we were after in the first palce. Now the government has to go out of pocket to make up the difference. The economy goes into a depression. The Democratic name is slandered, Trump is now seen as the last president who produced a strong economy. For like 45-50 years, democratic candidates are unable to win elections in the house, senate and white house.

Am I missing something:stopitslime:

You're missing the point, imo.

I disagree with some of Bernie's ideas, i.e. $15 minimum wage.

But I still support him because it's about the IDEA.

It's a negotiation.

Republicans still exists, he's not going to enact all of these policies however he wants. Compromises will be made with a focus on actually helping the people.

You start at $15, for example, and end up compromising at $11.25-tied to inflation.

Well not that exactly..but to leave for tax friendly countries

I personally am not concerned about that but ive heard that from people before

Which countries though?

You peel back the layers on these arguments and it's just bad faith. There are no countries they mean.

We worried about a brain drain to the Caymans? :russ:

Lol, i know. And people would still obviously want to capitalize on the US market

I think there is a valid concern about relocation inside the US to low or no income tax states though. Florida, Texas. Nevada etc. There already is a trend of that.

What Sanders and the "far" left in mainstream politics is pushing isnt Socialism. It's just the next step in Progressive Liberalism.
Calling it Socialism is appealing in a Democratic Primary, but detrimental to the ultimate goal of increasing federal protections to adapt to the 21st century economy.

Tax avoidance by working in NYC or SF and "living" in Florida is a massive problem.

But those cities aren't gonna get brain drained. Every consulting / accounting / law firm has dreamed of having a TX HQ vs NY/CA/Boston/Chicago cost of living.

But they can't get the top talent to take those jobs in Dallas :yeshrug:
