Tax avoidance by working in NYC or SF and "living" in Florida is a massive problem.

But those cities aren't gonna get brain drained. Every consulting / accounting / law firm has dreamed of having a TX HQ vs NY/CA/Boston/Chicago cost of living.

But they can't get the top talent to take those jobs in Dallas :yeshrug:
And isn't what Bernie is talking about Federal taxes? It wouldn't matter what state you are in. Amazon pays local taxes they just don't pay anything on the federal level.
lol @ Amazon just leaving all their US operations. TS be realistic.

How much in local taxes you think these big companies are paying? Many States give them breaks to move in.

so·cial·ism
/ˈsōSHəˌlizəm/

noun

a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

An increase of taxes on Billionaires and large corporations is nowhere near socialism.

Yes but what im saying is that if fed taxes go up dramatically there will be even more incentive to move to low or no personal income tax states to offset it

OK, not the end of the world. A lot of states with low taxes can use the business I'm sure.

Which countries though?

You peel back the layers on these arguments and it's just bad faith. There are no countries they mean.

We worried about a brain drain to the Caymans? :russ:

France wants back its rich people

Empirical evidence from this decade that the rich will leave, and place the burden of these policies squarely on the middle class.
The countries where “democratic socialism” is functioning, heavily tax the middle class, and haven’t abolished private healthcare.

Bernie and his supporters dont live in the real world.

Implementing the sweeping reforms progressives want in a recession prone country with a shrinking tax base is a recipe for disaster.
Let’s balance the budget and add some stability first.

That our top earners are going to flee to other socialist countries?
This is worse than

Bermuda, the Bahamas, Monaco, and a few others have no income tax at all... and the list of countries with lower taxes is very long.

The demographic being targeted is the demographic that knows money best, and how to move it.
It’s a silly game to play.
Didn’t we just repatriate a trillion dollars the rich had offshore? :heh:

Lol, how did the budget get so out of wack? Obama had reduced the deficit when last I checked....Clinton even gave America a surplus.

You shouldn't make that statement without making allowance for the party that multiplies the deficit whenever they are in power, then complain about balancing it when they aren't.

Military spending and tax cuts were big

America not trying to go through any kind of austerity measures to accomplish that.

The goal isn't to abolish private healthcare, though. It's to lower the costs and increase coverage.

If I gotta pay $1200 more in taxes but it eliminates my deductible and co-pays I'm good. That's a win.
