Nah I know the exact smell he’s talking about. That smell that comes with this humid ass weather.

But I’m wondering where he was cause I can imagine 125th having that smell but not that corner where seasoned vegan is because it’s a pretty residential block.

Where in Harlem were you? Last time I was there, I was in Hamiltom Heights and it was not that white, and that's one of the most gentrified parts. It seemed way more Hispanic than black, though.

I do feel Harlem world had a much more larger Hispanic growth than white.

But it’s mainly Dominicans so black folks aren’t going to make a huge uproar about it.

It’s like going down Bergen to Brownsville from Prospect Heights, it gets Blacker and Blacker.

Yea Eastern Brooklyn is very black.

East Flatbush is over 90% black but also 90% Caribbean folks.

They are trying to rename that area "soha", south harlem. It like most places we are in nyc didnt look like that 10 years ago. I'm from further up a hun 30's but am in that area often. Some of that odor is from morningside and central park and fertilizer used in meridians diving south/north traffic. 110th-112th on lenox though be funky from the homeless. There's a halfway between lenox and 7th called the Cambridge Hotel. That's why so many homeless are there and along central north benches.

They are trying to ban the renaming of hoods also. They know there is racism behind it.

I'm out here now, turned the corner on 126th, went a coffee shop not a single Black person inside

Edit: Just realised I"m a ten minute walk from Columbia, explains everything.

Yea you sound like you are close to Morningside Heights.

That use to be Harlem since Columbia made that an entire separate hood.

Why do all the barbershops in Harlem look like they are all hosting a reality TV show?

Basically what I’m saying is that the AA Baber shops in Harlem look nice as hell.
