How's the black women out there?

Very nice. Even the ones that got ‘the look’.

Richmond is stuck in the 80’s. No development and no desire to develop. It should be on par or close to being on par with Charlotte.

They use to be a minor league affiliate for the Atlanta Braves before they lost it.

No major sports team.

I grew up there. Left when I graduated high school and only go back to visit family.

Ehh nah. We updated our transportation system, VCU’s engineering, art , and sports(mainly basketball) departments are booming. Lots of restaurants, breweries, and venues popped up as well.

This dude said what’s up to me while I was at work, very weird experience.

Where you at in Richmond? I used to live in Jackson Ward, maje sure you go visit The Ward! It's Richmond's historical Harlem, Black Wall Street, all of that...

What you doing in Rich and where in the city are you?

Richmond the dopest city in Virginia, and one of the more unique cities of its size in the US. Enjoy your stay, lotta shyt to do there. I love Rich and I love VA period!

It is beautiful based on what I saw. Also, felt like it had a lot of history. That’s one of the places I wouldn’t mind moving to. I feel a bit of a connection to it since my grandfather came to Philly as a young man from Virginia.

Haven’t been in years.

Has the quality fell off?

I’m not a native African either so I’m no expert.
Imo it was never good to me

The African spots in NOVA like Rahama and Aburi Gardens far better imo, they taste way more authentic

This isn’t true at all.

You’re just looking at it through the lens of a native.

I get it, I’m from VA too.

But Richmond has grown a helluva lot over the last 20 years.

Especially since the 80s. :mjlol:

It was hell on Earth back then.

Ah you put me on.

Will check out both those spots when I go back up there.

She was my introduction to African food and I always try and plug her when I can.

She’s Liberian so I suppose they're piecing together an African identity like we are, just on the continent.

Richmond …man. That place will always have a place in my heart. Grew up in the DMV, went to VCU and stayed 2 years after graduation, but it was too slow for me. And all the black spots got closed

All my homies moved to DC after I did. When we did live in RVA post-grad, in retrospect it felt ‘old’. We were only early 20s but just going to dead local bars, strip clubs, etc. We would be at paper moon, Razzles on the south side partying with folk in their 50s :pachaha: 534 with the ratchet crowd….Cotton Club. :wow: I’m :flabbynsick:so i doubt folk even heard of these spots
