Just don't go past Colonial Heights/Petersburg

Side question, is that big ass Confederate flag near the interstate around Fredericksburg still up?
No. But it Might as well be. Racist fukkin state (southern va anyway). The flag was replaced Friday by two flags: an American flag and a yellow, 'Don't Tread On Me' flag with the symbol of a rattlesnake, also known as a Gadsden Flag.

:mjpls::mjpls:

(It was named for Christopher Gadsden, who at the time of the war was a soldier and a politician from South Carolina. Gadsden was also a plantation and slave owner)

DMV
Richmond …man. That place will always have a place in my heart. Grew up in the DMV, went to VCU and stayed 2 years after graduation, but it was too slow for me. And all the black spots got closed

All my homies moved to DC after I did. When we did live in RVA post-grad, in retrospect it felt ‘old’. We were only early 20s but just going to dead local bars, strip clubs, etc. We would be at paper moon, Razzles on the south side partying with folk in their 50s :pachaha: 534 with the ratchet crowd….Cotton Club. :wow: I’m :flabbynsick:so i doubt folk even heard of these spots
I lived wit a bytch who worked at Paper Moon lol

U ain’t that old homie

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
This isn’t true at all.

You’re just looking at it through the lens of a native.

I get it, I’m from VA too.

But Richmond has grown a helluva lot over the last 20 years.

Especially since the 80s. :mjlol:

It was hell on Earth back then.
I guess you’re right. shyt will always look the same to me :manny:

But the skyline hasn’t changed :mjpls:

Damn I went to Vcu… didnt know they lost it :picard:

That was a major thing for the city
Redskins/WFT/Commanders now hold training camp there. Richmond Speedway used to be a hot ticket until the early 2010 when Nascar started falling off, Virginia state fair is now held near Kings Dominion.

Sports and events wise, Richmond needs a HARD reboot especially when it comes to the baseball stadium and Richmond Coliseum

they will never get a major sports franchise besides maybe soccer. The population isn’t big enough.

Which brings me to the point I was making about it not growing. The city population in 1990 was 219k. Now it’s 226k.

A lot of people prefer that small town vibe.
