Nothing wrong with getting paper & maximizing your profits, especially in the cutthroat professional sports industry, but if Kobe wants to win a another ring or two he should be willing to take a small pay cut which would allow the Lakers to get a competitive, formidable squad. Why can't the Lakers sign anyone to deals more than the minimum? Cause Kobe's salary is HALF the salary cap and you can't do shid with one player eating up that much room.

You nikkas talk about the franchise generating revenue. YES, they generate it and lots of it. They have a TV deal and all that. So what? The fact of the matter is you need quality to win and quality comes at a price that is above minimum salary 2nd round picks and journey men to win.

Duncan took a pay cut from $21 million to $10 million. KG did the same thing last summer too.
