Your right, unless its a direct democracy (like issues are voted upon by the people) then its pointless to vote. There are 535 members of the senate and congress, say a company like Exxon mobile lobbies them and gives a million each to 60% of them(60% and over means even the president cant veto, automatic law). So for $321 million dollars, Exxon runs our government. Exxon has billions in reserves so this is nothing to them.......our government is a joke.

Don't like cap go to Russia.

They nees to change it all. I'd rather do my own research as far as finding out whats going on in the world. The media has their own agenda. Telling u how to feel and respond to shyt. Leaving out info. Lying etc. So I'd rather check for things myself. As far as politics I was never into it. We usually dont ever see any progress in our communities (black) whether we vote or not. Its not that i dont give a shyt i just dont ever see shyt happening for us for the past 32yrs I've been on this earth.

Politicians only come thru when they need a vote once their in office its the oh hes not the president of black america he's the president for all americans. Meanwhile every other "minority" community has reaped the benefits of being looked out for.

"especially considering how people died for you to have the right to vote. "

People keep repeating this same line over and over....

Trying to guilt us into voting. I'm not voting either.
It's not guilt, its a reality. This selfish, I don't owe anyone anything attitude is part of the reason why politicians don't take our communities seriously. I respect everyone's decisions so long as they don't directly affect me negatively, but I encourage everyone to consider the value in having your voice heard. If you choose not to vote, so be it, but I would hope that you would be participating in some community organizations then because not voting, and sitting around complaining should never be a respectable option.

What if you DO vote and you still feel as if your voice isn't being heard and your community is being taken advantage of by pandering politicians?

Use your democratic right :smh:, people died for you to be able to do that and people are still dying around the world for such things.
People who don't vote should have no right to say shyt about anything about how anything is governed.
This here excuse is so tired.our people literally died for every human right imaginable.should I throw my Dr.pepper in the bushes because our people died for the right to drink water when we were thirsty:jbhmm:I should be exercising my right to h20 right?I'm so ungrateful:snoop:

:camby:
I'm not gonna feel obligated to do anything just because the white devils "let us" or "gave" us the right to do so.we have been dehumanized in every which way for centuries and present but because of these "rights" we've come a long way and should be grateful and "reap the benefits":ohhh:

:stopitslime:
We not in chains no more but a wolf n sheep clothing ain't no better:pacspit:
I have a right to choose...fuk y'all mean

For those of you that say you don't vote because it doesn't matter, or politicians don't care about you, consider the fact that you don't only vote at the polls, but at the cash register as well. All it takes is a politician to look at the numbers, evaluate who shows up to the polls, and evaluate where each demographic spends their money. The groups that pose the biggest threat to them will get the most attention and begin to see changes in government tipped in their favor. Just something to consider.

cacs with guap run local elections too they buy out politicians :russ:

I don't think black people will get any salvation through the political process we don't get respect even when we have some-what large sums of money. Damn near every single government program has been used to destroy us. Politicans are puppets and figureheads anyways.

I've voted in every single election since I've been eligible. That's why I'm at this point. Especially with these a$$holes we have to choose from this year
