What if you DO vote and you still feel as if your voice isn't being heard and your community is being taken advantage of by pandering politicians?

:jbhmm:
Then seek out community groups in your area. Participate in protests. Hand out flyers. Help raise awareness of critical issues in your community. There's any number of things that each of us can do if we so choose to. And ANYTHING beats sitting online and being condescending about it.

People always seem to equate voting to know whats going on in the world. Sad thing 99% of people who are on here know very little of whats going on in the world.
This times 1000. Vote for local issues. fukk voting for the president. This country is going to hell regardless.

For those of you that say you don't vote because it doesn't matter, or politicians don't care about you, consider the fact that you don't only vote at the polls, but at the cash register as well. All it takes is a politician to look at the numbers, evaluate who shows up to the polls, and evaluate where each demographic spends their money. The groups that pose the biggest threat to them will get the most attention and begin to see changes in government tipped in their favor. Just something to consider.
Them polls ain't shyt but for public opinion n statistics

And all of those options beat telling other people they should "vote or die", or "vote or forfeit complaining". All of them....

"Consider"? Well you're very generous.

I don't believe people who think that not doing anything is a strategy are making plans and considering things.

I feel as if I am talking to someone about working out who is plain refusing to work out.

"I worked out once before. Still weighed the same"

"Look at Jack Lalane. He used to work out. He died anyway."

"Just because white doctors say working out is healthy don't make it true. It might actually be bad for me knowing them."

It's the type of shyt I tell people who want me to stop partying or clean up more often. I'm just not gonna do it, but I have this list that I recite to them.

It really upsets me cause this thing they fight tooth and nail is easy and free. No downside, only POSSIBLE benefits. I don't even think the system works for us or anything like that, but it will never work unless we work it.

I WAS IN AND OUT OF THE POLLING PLACE IN 15 MINUTES. That's what I cannot get over. It's so easy.

The polls don't matter. Politics doesn't matter. Voting doesn't matter. They don't care about us so what difference does it make.

Dismissing everything isn't going to change anything. It may not matter to you, but when you sit inside of board meetings like I have this past year and you see how the eyes of people light up during power point presentations with graphs and charts you begin to treat these things a little differently. Politicians will base their actions on information from any number of sources and from where the money is coming from. If polling data, low voter outcome and a pattern of money being spent in areas that aren't a threat to them continues the way it has been we will never see change. You don't have to buy into every piece of information out there, but you should definitely keep your eyes open. Don't feel discouraged or pessimistic. Your voice certainly matters and you can definitely help change things for the better. Don't believe the lie.

Some of the reasons some of you have for not voting are completely dumb. And the amount of you that are uninformed about how the voting system works is scary.
Ain't no fukking voting system just like ain't no justice system with us being fukked over with laws n murdered wit no consequences.
Just like protesting ain't gone change a damn thing, voting ain't gone change a damn thing

This here excuse is so tired.our people literally died for every human right imaginable.should I throw my Dr.pepper in the bushes because our people died for the right to drink water when we were thirsty:jbhmm:I should be exercising my right to h20 right?I'm so ungrateful:snoop:

:camby:
I'm not gonna feel obligated to do anything just because the white devils "let us" or "gave" us the right to do so.we have been dehumanized in every which way for centuries and present but because of these "rights" we've come a long way and should be grateful and "reap the benefits":ohhh:

:stopitslime:
We not in chains no more but a wolf n sheep clothing ain't no better:pacspit:
I have a right to choose...fuk y'all mean

Vote or die isn't a literal suggestion. Its just an illustration of how important people feel voting is.
I personally didn't say "Vote of forfeit complaining". What I said multiple times was, if you don't vote, I hope you are doing something else for the community because sitting at home complaining and doing absolutely nothing about it should never be a respectable option.
I'm not trying to shame anyone into voting. I'm trying to encourage you.

How can you say this when we have historical evidence of the effectiveness of protesting.
We also need to be selective with where our money goes as well.
People don't realize that change will take everyone. If we continue with this attitude that this doesn't matter and that doesn't matter nothing will ever change, and I don't mean to be rude but the way you're talking sounds like the words of a defeated person, but on the other hand you seem like you have the passion of a person that belongs on the front lines holding a sign. Imagine if you took that energy and focused it in the right direction.

Out here in my damn drawls
People like trump? What about people like Clinton and Obama? Y'all worried about Trump when you have 16 years of Democratic Presidents not giving two fukks about black people and causing irreparable damage :mindblown:

Trump gives lazy people a clear villain. Most people aren't paying attention to politics until these elections, while the real damage goes on behind the scenes.

It's a clown show on purpose

He's a nut job who has no business running for president, but he's not responsible for the state of this country.

The truth is bipartisan and it takes actual research

You said you're 22 correct? You're too old to be thinking like that. Do yourself a favor & educate yourself sweetie. That type of mindset & logic is exactly why "we" as a people won't progress. If you don't want to vote, protest, etc, that's fine. But you can't expect any type of change or progress by sitting at home complaining on a damn web forum.
