Don't vote, then wonder why the system is against you brehs:francis:
The system services the people that pose the greatest threat. Groups need to organize effectively and discuss how do we grab the attention of the powers that be. I think it'll take a long period of consistency in being vocal, investing our money, being present at important events, and much more.
Typing away our frustration, living outside of our means, not having any investments, not showing up to any important events; these things are recipe for things to stay exactly the same, if not worse.

fukk a vote. Black people voting without pooling our resources together is plain retarded. Elected officials take care of the people who put funding behind them getting their positions of power. That's how special interest groups get their agendas put through. Us voting without without a clear plan is expecting the establishment to do right by us because we pressed a blue or red button in November, that's foolish. It's insanity to do the same thing repeatedly and expects different result. shyt even when I did vote it didn't matter who I selected seeing that I live in state that's red through and through.

:stopitslime:the system been against me since birth. Is me voting gone get the system on my side.oh if I vote for the lesser evil system it just might:stopitslime:
Don't look at your one vote as just a single vote. Look at it as an addition to the pool of people telling the government "We care, and we are watching you". These politicians want a job, and that job is earned through votes. The more they notice our presence the more they will have to address our concerns.

So are you saying there's been no improvement in black peoples plight since being granted the right to vote?

It's not guilt, its a reality. This selfish, I don't owe anyone anything attitude is part of the reason why politicians don't take our communities seriously. I respect everyone's decisions so long as they don't directly affect me negatively, but I encourage everyone to consider the value in having your voice heard. If you choose not to vote, so be it, but I would hope that you would be participating in some community organizations then because not voting, and sitting around complaining should never be a respectable option.

No, the reason politicians don't take black voters seriously is because no matter how many times they do absolutely nothing for black people, they can pretty much guarantee they'll get 60-80% of the black vote.

Every election season black people are told how important it is to vote, but we're never told what we're getting in exchange for our vote. Obama got over 90% of the black vote running on a campaign of hope. Not investments in black neighborhoods, not investment in black education, not a promise to tackle the systematic racism in all levels of the private/public sector; but hope.

I've voted for free, and I'm not doing that anymore. If a candidate wants my vote, he either has to directly address either reparations for African Americans, or give a specific amount of money he's going to earmark for the creation of black owned and operated businesses. Without that I'll keep my black ass home on election day.

Valid concerns, but any politician can just lie to you and get your vote. The reason they are able to lie to you is because communities haven't been consistent. Once a group shows with their money, and with their presence that they aren't going anywhere, then things will change.

what if I told you the only two people they give us every election that have a chance of winning don't have my concerns or best interest at heart? why, then, would I want to vote for either one of them??
