i always wondered how xzibit got put on cause aint the nikka from arizona? i remember a buddy of mine let me borrow his single cd for "what u see is what u get" and i actually thought it was pretty dope. or it was probably cause i had no ends so enjoyed whatever the fukk i could get

But the era and song you're talking about is when his career really took off. Not sure why he was the only one to blow up from The Likz though. I guess he just had "it", similar to Busta blowing up a lot bigger than Leaders Of The New School.

He from michigan but grew up in new mexico i believe. at the speed of life is his best work. excellent album and still underappreciated. 40 day and nights included what u see is what u get. had a popular video, shyt used to be on rap city daily. dope album too but not as deep as speed of life.

x could def hold down an album, tash was dope as fukk too but his solo lp wasnt the best. sounds better as a featured mc and w. the liks.

As a teen he was in LA and got down with King Tee and Tha Alkaholiks somehow. But yeah he grew up mainly somewhere in New Mexico I think. I still remember the first time I heard ATSOL. I was looking through the booklet as we did back then and it had all the lyrics I think, I remember the pic of him standing in front of some Graf of a guy with a gun it looked like the gun was to X's head. Dope fukking album

Xzibit came up with Tha Likz/King T...that's really who he 'got on' with.

Once Xzibit linked up with Dr Dre, Eminem, Snoop/DPG and blew up, getting that 2001 royalty check and Up In Smoke Tour money, he kind of pushed Tha Likz to the side as lessers. It ended up formulating into a beef between them and him, where they called him out for being a fake gangsta.

snoop dissed that whole camp for going in on JD and not saying anything to suge. it wasnt just xzibit that snoop dissed. hes just the only one snoop called out by name. but he was dissing all of them with that. dr dre, eminem, etc.

You're trying to apply that to Suge Knight, who isn't a rapper. Rappers have nothing to gain from dissing Suge, even if they aren't afraid of him.

the point is, if he wasnt down to diss everybody, then dont diss anybody at all.

only pass you can get is if youre cool with said person. but obviously xzibit wasnt cool with suge so its no excuse. he went in on JD as if JD was a serious battle rapper or some chit too. as soon as i heard that track, i lost all respect for xzibit, even before the suge incident. i expected xzibit to get checked by somebody around that time anyway.
