There is absolutely nothing wrong with not being black. We are all of us, after all, only human.

Edit:

Was inspired buy this thread - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/why-does-hollywood-cast-biracial-people-as-black-people.630447

It seems all other races are permitted to be proud of their race. But its a problem to some when black people are proud of their various shades of brown skin and coily hair.

But it seems some black people get upset at the thought that there are actually black people who are proud of being full black and value that blackness.

Not all black people hate blackness and want to erase it or assimilate so that other races wont notice our blackness and accept us.

I have biracial nieces and nephews and full black neices and nephews. I love them equally but I cant pretend that they are all full black.

I dont think more or less of any person based on their race.

But I also wont lie that I'm black and proud of my and other peoples blackness.

Before I read another post I will ask for your personal numbers.

Surely someone else has asked, and surely you've provided reciepts

Why are we called “black” when our skin is brown? :jbhmm:

Don’t you think “black” is derogatory like the word like “nikka”? :jbhmm:

Lol. My 4 year old can't reconcile the word "black" and brown skin, she was asking this the other day.

Would black people world wide care enough to insist on a change to brown.

Lol at people who arent brown coloured being the ones called "brown people".

I agree.

Just as white is white...

Asian is asian...

Whatever race is whatever race...

But!!!! Black isnt inportant enough to be exclusive. Its the lowest on the totem pole so heck anyone can claim in.

To me, if you have a non black parent, i can't see you as a black person, you're mixed, and there's nothing wrong about it.

I don't understand why some people feel that being called biracial is an insult.

Or if a biracial person states that they are biracial some feel that its somehow an insult to black people.
