I just got on a money route

I put my blood sweat and tears to earn that delivery route. But honestly Imma survive one more year a peak and probably go drive busses lol

Said you have a child on the way (Congrats.) Is Your contractor giving you any benefits that you'll need for your family? A 401k? I know you don't have a pension. Probably paying you a flat rate, too. No union protection, either. Make that move ASAP, breh.

I was taking the bus a lot at one of my jobs because they didn't have free parking (for new employees anyway) and I've seen some crazy shyt.

fights, people shooting up, just random psychos screaming at everyone.

i personally wouldn't put up with it, but if they paying better than your other job might be worth it.

The city needs bus drivers bad, they are starting to get desperate which means that pay is going up. Apparently next year is “new contract year” as well.


I’m a delivery driver for FDX and today I got approached by a bus driver about applying for the job. This the 3rd time this month a bus driver as asked me.

Always sounding like a Army Recruiter

Lol what y’all know about this career? Any funny public transit stories?


Side note: NY seems like the only only city where I see the bus driver get no respect, which is wierd because their city is damn near dependent on public transportation running. I don’t live in NY tho

Pay is competes with what a seasoned UPS driver would make.


But my motivation to leave is Ineed solid health care and work is rough on the body.

So I’m definitely outta there after peak one way or another.

A full rate UPS driver (48 months) makes $42 an hour. Would be the first time I've ever heard of any Fedex contractor (or Fedex period) paying remotely that well. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide though.

If you are producing, contractors are paying you WELL. It’s reason why people stay doing it for years.

I would but Florida isn't a union state so no unions down here and the pay is about 17 a hour to start, then Florida drivers are damn crazy. Too risky.

But I'd rather drive a bus than a big rig.
