I’m really thinking about becoming a bus driver brehs

My boy failed the driver's test twice and passed on the 3rd final try. Drove for a few and became a supervisor. Now his supervisor job is to take photos of bus accidents for insurance reports.

They begging for drivers in Seattle right now. They pay like $60k-$80k too but I can’t deal with those homeless junkies all day.

Transportation Union is usually some of the best you gonna get in the country

Here in Chicago I’m gonna be making 45 an hour in 2 years and my health benefits are covering 90% of all major medical expenses…then pension and social security and I’m prolly set for life as long as I don’t get fired

The bus drivers here in MA get paid extremely well. They especially make a killing in overtime. You have to pay dues for a couple yrs but in the long run it’s worth it.

Yea overtime is the secret sauce….a lot of these OGs purposely avoid promotions so they can do overtime and bringing in 150k a year

My bus driver friend in nyc makes six figures but he puts in overtime of course. And he lives in a $600 per month studio in Harlem. Haven’t talked to him in a long time

my dad is one. you will get the worst routes first, and there are crazies who are with the shyts - sometimes literally and figuratively, but if you have a good union, it's all worth it.

Don't forget their version of 401k along with your pension, social security along with that when you retire. You will be getting paid from 2 sources and a nest egg somewhere in neiguborhood of 500k-1million if you started already.

AFAIK, thanks to The Great Resignation, most transportation agencies are understaffed and so they are paying like they weigh to get more bodies in the door.

Just remember the golden rule! It’s not your money, if you start tripping on people “disrespecting”you by not paying full fare or walking past you without saying anything. Those are the people that get beat up by passengers. Most transit agencies ‘have a stay in the seat’ rule if you are being assaulted so don’t let it get to that point. Stay forcused all that money you are making and you will be good
