I essentially agree with the premise of the thread... It is a bad idea to spend money on things if you can't even afford the basic necessities of life...
However, I don't think All-Star weekend is a good example to use as a basis for this because there is no proof that any of these guys are "fake ballers" or that they are not handling their business... When I see black people in expensive cars, the first thing I think is:
"Hmm... Nice car
"... Basically the same thing I think when I see any other race in a nice car...
That is all my brain can allot me to think... Anything more would be an assumption based off of nothing...
Basically, you can't make a thread saying "I'm Shocked how dude stunt and flex for All Star Weekend" and then use the All Star weekend as a reason to address a so called "problem in the black community" because the topic that you are using to guide this discussion is pretty much baseless seeing as though you don't really know the situation of each and every "dude who is stunting and flexing" for All Star weekend... In order for you to agree with that example in relation to the thread topic, you have to make baseless assumptions about these people you've never met or talked to ever in your life...
You can't use the "67% of blacks live in poverty example" and then just attach it to every single segment of the black people... Statistics are much more complicated than that. Can you go to Martha's Vineyard and attach that stat to all of the black people there?
My point is, All Star weekend is a certain segment of the population that MIGHT, just MIGHT be full of black people who happen to have the money to do these things you deem unnecessary...
I have a cousin who pulls in about 180k per.... During the daytime he is a suit/tie kind of guy... But he attends these all star weekend festivities with his old college buddies(some white, some black, etc) and they rent cars just like anyone else rents a car on vacation, they just happen to be able to rent a nice car to travel in, and a nice hotel to live in... Now my cousin doesn't wear a suit/tie on these vacays... He dresses in his regular hip hop attire, and many might assume he is some sort of "D Boy" faking the funk... Bottom line is, don't make assumptions about people you don't know. A good way to do this is to not give a fukk what other people are doing with their time and money unless it directly affects you...
The topic is interesting argument on both sides though...

...let's just look at it this way if sumbodys a deadbeat they gon be a deadbeat to they kid no matter how much money they got or don't got, that's a person that don't care about shyt and they keep it consistent by not caring about they money but more about these hos and having a good time.....now if they don't got kids or ya kids is taken care of, it might be stupid to do in the long run,but we've all made bad financial decisions....goin to college or trade school just to go or so u won't get thrown out the house like I did is a bad investment too
