and i know white people that do hella dumb chit with their government-assisted money as well. im sure the white folks at these homeless shelters that you allegedly frequent have told you plenty of stories.

why is this a racial issue synonymous with black people?

AND WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ALL-STAR WEEKEND?

and since yall insist on basically equating this chit to all-star weekend, why dont we address all the white people that are there? do the same rules not apply? and how about we address the fact that white folks attend more events that revolve around "frivolous spending" than black people? why do yall keep ducking that?

dudes is programmed to down black people in general and pass it off as "caring for the community". also shoutout to that one white dude thats always around, putting the battery in his pet niqqers' backs.:skip:

:aicmon:

where I say anything about ALL Star Weekend? I just responded to the question...it goes faaaaaaaaaaaar beyond one weekend. All Star Weekend was just a vehicle to get the conversation rolling. It also is a shining example of BIG EXTRAVAGANT SPENDING...yeah some have money but some go and put themselves in debt as well...It's a mentality, a disease...this way of thinking and living is EXACTLY what has been keeping us as a people back. Yeah whites were there, read my post dog, I was commenting for the BLACK COMMMUNITY, why? cause I'm a BLACK MAN. I care for those other races as people but of course I care for my own with a deeper love...

It's that crab in a barrel mentality that holds us back as well...why SHOULDN'T we care about how/why our brothers and sisters spend there money frivolously? If we actually CARE about them we'd check up on them, teach em about saving and KEEPING money. Not letting them "do what they do" You not gonna reach everybody, but you gotta at least try...That's all I'm sayin playboy, no need for hostilities :salute:

Days later and nikkas are still in here with their feelings exposed b/c the topic got too real. :whew:

But y'all know better than to discuss nikkas and stuntin, especially at shyt like ASG... some nikkas will blow the light bill money and suffer a few nights without lights in order to fly down to ASG... while a few other nikkas will tell the kids that clothes for the spring gonna be on hold til like May because daddy gotta go on a trip... but don't you dare criticize them nikkas for living their lives... :pachaha:

That's why this thread got personal. :youngsabo:

Yeah I only mention black folk when I talk about this topic...hmm I wonder why? Maybe, just maybe, it's because I'm a black man. A black man who cares about his general community...the well being of black people as a whole.

No hate on anybody else, but when y'all say "why should I be worried about how someone decides to waste their money" well I don't know bout y'all, but that shyt has a direct and indirect influence on you...YOUR tax money goes to programs that support those that live the "hood rich" lifestyle. The ones that fake this and that to get extra benefits from the government. I have friends who leech the system (food stamps, unemployment) but be the first to buy Gucci wallets, Prada sneakers and such.

I just want our people to gain wealth, not front like they have it. I have mentoring programs in my church that I personally start AND take part in and not only for my church but the community surrounding it. And I serve the homeless once or twice every couple months, I want to HELP the community not turn a blind eye to it. So YES I do care how and where we spend our money. I hate that we like the LOOK of being rich but not actually have the wealth. Got nice expensive clothes and wallets/purses, but have no checking account :snoop: the fukk sense does that make?

The fact that we are the biggest consumers but have the least amount of collective wealth speaks volumes of the black community, I want to change that as best I can. Sorry for the rant but damn I hate to be labeled a hater for actually caring about my "brothers and sisters"

:damn::ooh:

Straight shytted on them dudes. Cats gotten too far with the fake stunting and shyt.

you must be younger. this shyt been going on forever. niggs been stuntin on big weekends period since i can remember. memorial day/labor day in miami, essence fest in n.o., howard homecoming. shyt one of my boys, extra as he is rented a CL for an allen iverson bday weekend back in the day. :aicmon: if a pressed nigg think he can get a one up to impress a brawd in a sea of other vultures, he gonna do it

That "1-Up" on nikkas is what killing us as a whole. That creates animosity between us and create hatred. Do all that to bag an above average looking female? That is being a slave to the p*ssyhole.

but why make it out to be just a black issue? why make it out to be an issue at all? this isnt an issue.

if youre truly concerned about the black community, then speak on the real issues and get to the real roots of them.

ive already stated that black people need more businesses and need to support black businesses. AND THERES PLENTY OF BIGGER FISH TO FRY. how far do you think youre really gonna get with all this accumulated wealth? this chit is small potatoes dun-dun.

and i dont care for the article neither. i read it and its mostly misinformed smart-dumb nicca talk and typical smart-dumb nicca assumptions. i wasnt enlightened about anything. and then they went on to talk down about black people for no reason, concerning chit that has nothing to do with nothing.

now i see where alot of you get some of your ways from. always quick to assume the worst. for instance, just because you see somebody hopping off the bus with a pair of jordans on, it doesnt mean that theyre broke and it doesnt mean that they paid $200 dollars for them.

coincidentally, i can use myself as an example. i caught the bus last week, not because im broke, but because my girl's wheel is in the shop and i wasnt gonna have her lugging my son around on septa. oh and those jordans that i hopped off the bus with were factory-reject joints that are sold on the ave for $50-60. and theres a good chance that most people that the author sees rockin jordans, got their jordans the same way. and im relevant so i only paid $40. and that 40 bucks didnt go to nike or :mjpls:. it went to a black man. but people like the author of that article and those who follow, wouldnt know anything about this and are quick to assume that im some low-life that spends his entire welfare check on clothes instead of taking care of my "15 kids".

its a shame that theres a segment of black people who are quicker to make stereotypical racial assumptions about their own people than a redneck would. and these same people are always the 1st to claim that they want whats best for the black community. FOH. dudes dont even be knowing whats going on in the community around them.

Amazing post brother. I applaud you. Alot of these morons think we somehow exist in a bubble. Its obvious for people to see money being wasted to extravagantly during these events, yet there is so much poverty in the black community is astonishing to me. But oh well, by bringing this up your automatically labeled a hater and ignored...:manny:

Some people in here aren't givin black folks enough credit. Seriously there are people actin like damn near all black people are fukked up and financially irresponsible. And thats not always the case. Is there poverty, crime and socially detrimental conditions that black people face. YES. That is true. But there are also so many hard working, honest living, legitimate money earning black folks that get up everyday and go to work and feed their families.

Some of y'all nyggaz Are not around black folks that are actually doin shyt with their livesw Newsflash, there are successful black people that have money, own homes, own their own business, work 2 or 3 jobs etc and a lot of those same black folks were at all star weekend. We ain't all fukked up out here.

I knew at least 30-40 black folks that went out to Houston to go to all star weekend. All were employed and handled their business.

There are a lot of hardworking black people...

There are a lot of hardworking black people who have no idea of money management...

I think when black people as a whole see the benefits of knowing how to manage money, they can pass that knowledge down to their kids...

There is nothing wrong with spending discretionary income to have fun...

But when you dont have a "rainy day"fund, that money isnt discretionary
