My friend pays $3,600 rent for a tiny ass one bedroom in JC.

Those are the prices out here. Downtown they got STUDIO apartments for 3500+

A new apartment complex is being built across the street from my house. Rent for a studio starts at $1100. This is in the Midwest and not even that close to downtown here.

This is just outside Minneapolis. Considering the demographic and the types of businesses around this area (for grocery stores we only have an ALDIS within the city limits, but sure do have a family dollar and dollar tree), the rent seems steep.

Then again I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. My property taxes have gone up double digit percentages the last three years. A shift is definitely happening.
