I’m so glad I’m not a renter anymore. It’s rough out here.

Based off what? Rent is literally paying the mortgage on said house/condo/apt.
Save a down payment and buy something cheaper than the what you are currently buying for your landlord
BOA just started a program to give mortgages with no down payment to POC, no excuses
In 5 cities, just wanted to add that part.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
If you are paying $3600 for rent you can afford a house cut the crap.

Most people paying over $3,000 for rent have high bills cause of entitlement issues. My friend who splits her 2800 a month rent with her boyfriend has bills that over 5K a month.

She wants a house below 600K but I told her you are lying to yourself you can afford more just change your habits

And they aren’t taking into account a lot of people renting are splitting the rent with roommates.

These 2 bedroom apartments for 3K got 2-3 people living in them. Folks far removed from the renter life don’t understand the current climate. A lot of people renting ain’t living alone.
Renting with roommates is actually the best method to saving money to buy a home.

sometimes it's not even about being able to afford the mortgage, some folks can't even get a loan even when they have a history of paying high-rent..

You say no excuses like this shyt wasn’t a part of the design of this country. Just accept it, the average person is too broke to afford a house. You can act like that’s an “excuse” all you want but people in this country can barely afford their rent, car matinence, food, etc. it’s economists all over the board saying we’re on the verge of a Great Depression, people are going to die

I’m basing it off my friends and family.

Single fathers with kids. Single mothers with kids. And also couples who split rent.

Sometimes I browse to see where I’d I live if I needed a place to rent. Philly is so overpriced and I ain’t living in the slums.
