Pacific Rim is literally one of my top 3 all time favorite movies

Wildly overrated. If the fight scenes were on par with what you see in Asian cinema, I might understand the excitement, but these are Hollywood fight scenes - violence galore, sure, but looking very staged and inauthentic. People act like these films are the next installment of The Raid series of films.

John Wick is more in tune with Hardboiled/A Better Tomorrow/John Woo type flicks than Raid

Dude, it's make believe...who gives a fukk??? I grew up watching saved by the bell, family matters etc and there were a couple of blogs online shytting on those shows and that shyt was funny ass hell.

John Wick is nothing but gratuitous violence. The storyline is pretty meh, and as someone else said, character development pretty non-existent. But this movie is made for folk who like violence. There's no love interest or any other stupid storyline that takes away from the action like so many other movies. It is what it is and I fukks with it for that reason.
