This thread is jokes :mjlol:

@ISO youre a great poster but you're in denial about drills influence on Bobby. I doubt dude was watching smack dvds and got his influence from that :comeon:

These young cats coming out no matter the region are 75 percent influenced by Keef.. from gs9 to Yachty to Uzi

Uzi from Philly and only a year younger than Keef and said one of his biggest influences is Keef and that was only 4 maybe 5 years ago if we're talking bout Keefs old style

Keef, Gucci & Lil B birthed 9/10 most these rappers coming out these days.:yeshrug:

No breh the man said out his own mouth he is not drill influenced. Dudes are always eager to show love to their influences and favorites. Why lie? Considering me and some other NY posters were younger than Bobby and watching these DVD's and clips on YouTube why wasn't Bobby? It's not even about that because any hood video in the YG and YB'z era before drill looks like a "drill video". Drill didn't pioneer low budget hood music videos.

Point out the Keef influence on Bobby. In Lil Uzi its clear as day from his look to his style.

Yeah, there's no "shyt" to run anymore. The audience has been dumbed down to the point where they are not even compatible with rap's economic model.

You encourage nikkas to act stupid and commit crime, well, barely functional drug addicts with criminal records don't have a lot of purchasing power.

They could be a lot of people's lyrics if you think about it. Listen to other Shmurda songs we gonna front like Shmurda isn't more technical than Keef on average and isn't more of an energetic spitter with a different vocal delivery.

I'm going to say it again why did Shmurda deny Keef influence? He had no problem citing Southern rappers like Boosie and Juvenile that he listened to when he was living in Florida. I'm telling you Shmurda was in juvies at the height of the drill movement. He himself said he missed it but upon being released felt like drill made a lot of kids gang bang.

Skip to 7:42 this was 4 years ago, Bobby and Rowdy have the same lyrical styles.

Am I forgetting anybody?

Ofcourse, youre not gonna notice when a wave is coming. I always hear "such and such came out of nowhere" but nikkas don't come out of nowhere. You just dismiss them until they're everywhere. Theres this huge crop of young nikkas 19, 20, 21 getting deals and having these huge buzzes in NY right now. Some nikkas gon come in here and say blah blah blah nikkas trash. But those nikkas are clearly old and out of touch. Not saying you got to like everything, cuz I don't. But I do understand why people are relevant.

Hip Hop is youth Music. If these nikkas are selling out BB Kings and hitting a million views per song on their Soundclouds and YT's... what you think is gonna happen from there? It's only going up. They will only gain more fame and eventually they taking over. I don't want to hear they sound "Southern" cuz outside of Desiigner who shamelessly sounds Southern. All these little nikkas sound CURRENT.

NY rap is not JUST BOOM BAP
. NY rap has always been about partying, having fun and getting fresh with a little content thrown in. Nas, Jay, Big etc. was not rapping over dusty Joey Bada$$ beats. I don't ever remember hearing Showbiz and AG on my block, or any of that weak Boom Bap shyt tbh. I get confused how THAT became "THE NEW YORK SOUND" but whatever. Thats another topic.

Quietly in a Year or Two NY will run rap. Because it's so many Grassroots movements going on. And these nikkas have strong waves...

The King of this shyt is clearly A Boogie... nikka is nuclear hot right now.

My man posted wild facts to support his argument, but it's true. NY is about to post up in a big way, you got Remy, fab, and some others remixing the shyt out of A Boogie songs, and my man Don Q is gonna shyt on nikkas, got high hopes for him. It's looking good. Couldn't agree more with this post.

One thing I don't understand is nikkas in here saying NY stole the word shorty. Been hearing nikkas in NY say shorty since at least 92, far as I know we invented that shyt. :stopitslime:

A Boogie

His man Don Q is like a new generation Styles P to me. Classic NY spitter. Perfect 2nd in command for him.

Don Q

Dave East - I think he's a NY J. Cole. Just lyrical enough, has looks for the ladies and street cred. He's not great, but he's perfect for his role. So i'm gonna count him. He's signed to Mass Appeal but knowing Peter their either gonna give him a big bag to stay or he's gone already. But he's young so his future is gonna be bright. he not going anywhere.

Desiigner - Yeah this he do kind sound like Future... so what... lmao. These young nikkas don't care about that shyt. ALL THESE LITTLE nikkaS SOUND ALIKE ANYWAY. This nikka has charisma out the ass. He's with Kanye and most of Kanye's artist succeed. Just is what it is. He sound southern... yup. Can't understand shyt he saying? Nope me either... don't matter. He got a wave and it's his time. And "Caliber" fire... signed to Def Jam/GOOD aint going nowhere no time soon.

Phresher, Curly Savv, Dah Dah -
Ima lump these three together, because I never really seen them do a song outside of the 3 of them together in some form of combination. I don't know much about them, my little nikka pressed Curly Savv on the bus and put it on YT. Which was embarassing... but Savv is dope as shyt. All these little nikkas are dope. I seen Phresher with 50, not sure if he has a deal. But he will he's a star, only a matter of time.

*bonus*:snoop:

Bam Bino - Bam is FleetTeam with Savv and them but being that he just signed to Atlantic. I think he should have his own little space. Bam is a peculiar artist to me, cuz he seems like he has the natural charisma to really be a star, but he sounds the same on everything. I've yet to see a NY artist be able to make it like that. But his local support is ridiculous as far the hood. That's all you need honestly. He get's open comparisons to BIggie. Which I understand... Time will tell.

Casanova - I really don't know shyt about this nikka. But I know him and Manolo Rose just signed to Roc Nation via Memphis Bleek. This the song he has out. I don't get the hype but let him eat.

Young MA - This bytch can spit and has a following. I literally know nothing about shorty tho. But I see her everywhere. She moving... i think most people on the site should know her. She threw me off With the "Deepthroat" line... lmao...

Bleezy - He had that "Kyrie Irving" song out, lyrically he hard but I think he got thrown off by the fact he looks alot like Bobby Shmurda. I know that sounds crazy but you should always avoid walking in a great man's shoes.

And love em or hate GS9 set the precedent for allllll these nikkas on this list. They gave New York a new identity to people. Same way Keef did to the Chi. Without them, nobody has a wave right now. Cuz this generation of young nikkas was getting overlooked by nikkas who was stuck in the past. GS9 let nikkas know what was going on now...

Matter fact... Praise the gods...

Not while all your artists continue to copy the mid-west, South, and Westcoast because at the end of the day, you can get the same music in a more authentic way from the artists they are copying.

Future is a much better artist than Desiigner.

Chief Keef is a better artist than Bobby Schmurda.

New York will never come back as long as we are jocking somebody else style...cats need to study the masters...and stop trying to be what they not...when G Funk blew up we didn't copy that...we reevaluate what made us great and grew from that...NYC wanna make a comeback...study Biggie, Nas,Wu, Mobb Deep..that whole Era...and grow from that...
